After several parts (of the demonstration) on ZONE, I noticed that the
RUSH of tower was very often used
what do you think of this?

well, it is a very common tactic for age of kings, thats where i'm thinkin it is coming from...


try to tower your wood/minerals right? yeah...kinda a lame tactic, but if the person is good with mirco, it's very easy to do..

Ok here it goes: ppl tower rush cuz they are cheap (its not that they suck). But it leaves them very vunerable economically because they have to concentrate on focusing with ore mining.

Another way to stop the rush is build at least a few stormtroopers/scouts and have them patrol your base's perimeters so that when a pesky little droid comes to build towers they will be vaportized!!

Lastly if they use the tower rush and u survive, they will be BEHIND if they are no good with micromanagement, therefore it leaves you a chance to attack them or if you survive, FORTRESS SIEGE THEM!!!!

Another very obvious strat for later in the game is plummel plummel plummel and artillery artillery artillery!!

The best way to prevent is scouting + patrolling. Tower rush can be easily prevented.

the rush of tOWER is indeed a rather common tactic in SWB, the problem
is that the turns very resistant and are too quickly built. Their
cost is modest, which returns this tactic imparable I think already
that there is a BUG ....

and if the person actually knows what they are doing with their economy (same build orders basically apply to this as they do in AOK) I can prolly tower rush you and still have a better econ then you ;-)

it doesn't require a entire amount of effort into your ore, just 2 workers. it all plays down to the micro as you said though, know how many workers to tech with, how many on wood/food/gold/stone (more of an aoktc player ;-P not sure of all the stupid terms they put for it in here)

How bout Patrolling and scouting?? That will surely prevent you, but i do agree with you that good players can manage their economy well if they do it right

first off, I don't think it is a bug, it is a good strategy, that is all.

second: 3 forward buildres can throw up a tower quickly, and have your scout go in first to survey the area on 'no attack stance' set in the advance options for him (so he doesn't run off and die) will try to make sure that nothing will stop you.

even if you are stopped, weigh the costs.
3 forward builders = 150 food. + the scout (he was free anyhow)
is alot less for whatever you have to build to stop it (couple guys to patrol)

so even if you do stop it, you are surely slowing down your economy ;-P

yawn but remember you need to get into the tech lvl 2 as soon as possible slowing U down also, which gives the opponent PLENTY of time to make a measly 3 soldiers. Also it won't slow you down if you make lots of farms very quickly. :P

....or, YOU could just build a tower or two before they can. Then, when their workers come they get wasted.

Of course, the best way to stop it is to play IP with someone you know and tell t hem not to do it. People on the zone don't care what you say, but ip players usually will agree or leave.

getting to the next tech tree fastest isn't what is importaint basically...

like I stated before, it is ALL about micro and know what to do when..

btw, farming isn't the fastest way to get food.

it is the slowest.

What about building towers around unclaimed resources on the map.

A tactic I normally practiced when playing WC2 would be scouting and locating were additional mines and forests were. I would then build small fowarding bases there with town house (so my workers didn't have to travel all the way back to my main base), towers (normaly 4 or 5 placed around the resource) and a barracks ( for some quick expandable troops).

My doing so I effectivly cut of my opponents economy (or at least slowed him down and forced him to expand resouces to retake those resources)

Does the community consider this a fair tactic or would this be viewed the same as a tower rush.
