I have X-Wing, but I haven't played it since I got X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter.

Well, that explains everything.
It doesn't explain the magic laser turrets on Kile II that shoot through canyon walls at you.
Those laser turrets aren't magic, they're camoflauged. they look like the walls on the side of the canyon.
The TIE Interceptor rules. Anybody here got Star Wars Rebellion?
Next time you're in that neck of the woods, take a look at your radar screen. You'll find that what's shooting at you is actually one of the laser turrets on the way to the spaceport...shooting right through the canyon wall.
