I don't think anyone said Fett, because he is not really a "backround character" He is actually a part of the movies, and an important key character in ESB.

i don't really think he did anything important in ESB, seems like he was just there to look cool. one thing i will give him credit for is tracking the Millenium Falcon to Cloud City, after that he didn't really do anything

......That would be his important role. If it wasn't for him, the whole plot of Star Wars would be extremely different.

i don't think it would've changed too much. Vader and Emperor are strong in the Force so it would've only been a matter of time before they found them. it just sucks that he had a lot of potential to do something cool, but ended up dying in an embarrassing way
