compiling troubles

basically i have a map and when i try to do a full compile i let it go then when i come back the next day...its stuck somewhere in the vis process (portal something 4 i think it got to) and my pc was complaining about low virtual memory..
are there any cures for this?please dont say "delete half your map" or something thats not really an option:(

Make sure you used detail and hint brushes (http://www.nibsworld.com/rtcw/tutorial_detail_and_hint_brushes_part1.shtml) a lot...

thanks for the tip but ive pretty much covered all of that..unless...do you need to make clip brushes etc detail?

If its taking that long, you probably have some leaks in the map that q3map2 isnt picking up, or maybe some messed up brushes. run the brush cleanup then make sure there are no leaks in the map.

Do a BSP only compile. Then go to the plugins menu and load the portal file. Look in the console for the number of portals and post that along with a screenshot of radiant so we can see the portals to get an idea of how bad it is.

sorry BSP only compile would be what?im not that experienced with Q3map2 i only use the options set in radient
i seem to be getting a few leaks atm would that effect the vis compile?
ill do a teampory fix for those leaks and try and work out what command makes the .prt...is it just the meta one?

Wow that's small...but I do see 1 or 2 areas of dense blue lines.

how would i fix these areas?hint brushes??
btw this is a map made by living dead jedi...the jabbas palace one its been converted for the movie battles mod..and i cant compile it :(
