(Note: I'm new to the whole SCUMM hacking so please forgive any boneheaded newbie errors)

I'm running Windows XP. I go into my MONKEY directory and copy DISK01.LEC, then go to my Costume Ripper directory and paste it into the DOS version of the program as suggested in the ReadMe several topics above. Whenever I try, however, the screen goes black for a moment then just returns to normal.

Any help?

Thanks.

Dont copy and paste - drag and drop the file onto the exe. Failing that, run it from the command prompt:

Start a command prompt:
Start>run>command

cd to the costrip folder:
cd c:\blah\costrip\dos\

run costrip with a resource file as an arguement:
costrip.exe d:\monkey1\monkey1.001

or whatever

When I did that, it said
"Exiting due to signal SIGSEGV
General Protection Fault"

And then it gave off a long string of hex.
