I knew i was making a topic that was so obviously said in another topic :p sorry about that. no i haven't heard of KSE & thanks for your help i'm going to check it out now.

Quick question is it possible for someone like me to learn to make mods for kotor. i'm not really smart when it come to computers thats why i ask. also i'd like to make some side quests mods for kotor if its easy to learn.

When I came to the board I was extremely intimidated by the idea of modding. Luckily, with a lot of patience, I was able to figure it out. I would have to say that it's not as hard as it looks, however each learning curve is probably different. My advice would be to check out some of the great tutorial threads on this board and give it a shot. If it's too hard, then you can make requests and someone will probably make it for you. If you find that it's easy, you can become one of the big dogs on the board =)

As far as making unique side quests....good luck. You're talking about something very advanced.

Here are some links to get you started:

The easiest thing to mod would have to be items, so if you want to start somewhere then start with items. As far as making side quests there are several options, making a new module, recruit mods, and others, but if you are just starting out don't go to those unless you really know how to do scripting because for me that is the hardest thing to understand, and I only use simple scripts that other people make :D, I can't make my own :(, I get way too confused.

well, id try this then try Re-texturing and Re-Skin (samething :p)

but yea try Items, dont be afraid to ask, becoz everyone will help and some of us may even learn a thing or two :D:D then go onto re-texturing, it would be good to have more ppl in item creation, no pressure intended (hehe) :p

2da editing is pretty easy to start with too since much of it involves copy and paste...

ACID_BURN, Achilles is right. The first thing you might want to do is to take a few hours and read all the stickys and follow the links through them. I have been doing that for a while now and still miss some of them!

The people on this forum bend over backwards to help people, but it helps everyone involved if you first try to help yourself by reading what has already been answered.

I just recently took the step and started (I won't say modding) editing a few things. Making other mods a little more customized to my tastes and such...

Achilles, Maverick, and T7 have been a great help to me but I tried to learn as much as I could before I asked them.
