During loading and sometimes during saving the game will either refuse to reload and give me that wonderful XP error reporting screen. Other times my computer will hiccup during saving or loading and refuse to load the environment again, e.g. the walls and floor are gone as well as the sky but the characters and doors are still there, as well as some objects like terminals etc. I have the latest drivers for my entire system which far surpasses the recommended stats for the game. I also have the latest version of the game already installed and these glitches occur without and with mods being used. The only thing I have found about my problem was an instance involving some issues with my Radeon 9600 SE during the patch update, which the patch told me it had fixed. I have tried reinstalling the game as well, to no avail. Any answers out there for me?

You could try editing the configuration of the game to make it run more smoothly, maybe lower the picture quality or something so the game runs smoother.

Is this a laptop? Kotor always had some problems running on a laptop.

Your video card is a low end card but sufficient for the game.
Try turning off some graphic options such as grass, shadows, soft shadows, anistropy and frame buffer. If you still have problems, then you can lower texture quality.

Also, update your drivers to the latest catalyst version:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27)

However, if you are using a laptop, you may have more success with the Omega drivers: http://www.omegadrivers.net/) (note that I've never tried the game on a laptop)

(edit: soft shadows appear to be already off. I should get some glasses or get some sleep)
