Before I got working on some of my other mod ideas, I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to make a feat that basically makes u fight like Malak does.

I want to make a mod that does that and also adds any hidden combat animations that aren't in use.

Got any ideas? I haven't the slightest clue where to start.

Hmm, I've gotten to the star forge several times, but I've never actually fought malak in the final battle. I didn't notice anything different on the leviathan, so does he fight with different anims, ect? If so, I'd like to see them, I always wanted some new styles of saber combat. :D

Ya he does have custom animations, but only when fight against another melee weapon armed opponent. So if you use Malak's animations, he will not appear to attack anything else. You know you'd think the dark lord would have more power or something lol.

So ur saying that there is no way to simply "exchange" the animations Malak uses for the ones ur PC uses?

Hello all,

There are 2 types of animations in kotor.

Your character and some of your party members draw their animations from 5 main animation files.

Almost all the other NPCs and creatures have their animations stored with their model.

When the animations are stored with a model, only that model can use them.

Unfortunately, Malaks animations are stored with his model. So, until the animations are figured out completely Malaks animations are solely his.

So what your saying cchargin, is that we can't attach Malak's animations to another character right? How about useing Malak's model and animations to make a new character with the othe PC animations? Just a thought since I think that would be cool, of course there would have to be a custom skin for the character.

Hello all,

Malak can only use the animations stored with his model.

If a model is a child of another model then it can use the parents animations.

Malaks model is self contained. It has no parent and no children. So, it can only use the animations stored within it. Also, no other model can use the animations stored in Malaks model, since Malaks model has no children.

Wow, that sounds way more complex than it really is.

simple answer: Malak is stuck with his animations and won't let anyone else use them. He is a selfish Sith Lord afterall. ;)

But we still can use Malak's body, with other head, right?

hello all,

Taking a quick look at the 4 Malak models it looks like his head is firmly attached.

If you want to use Malaks animations you have to use Malaks model, freaky head and all.

It is interestig though that the model n_jedimalek actually uses the player character animations. This is Malak before he turns sith and before he loses hi jaw.
