Heya. I'm trying to change the music around from KotOR-- I really hate it, compared to the original stuff, so I'm trying to replace the music files.

All well and good, right?

Well, I'm stumped as to how to extract the files (I'm not sure of the extension) in the StreamMusic directory. The KOTOR Tool doesn't seem to do it.

All help welcome. Please-- please --help this amateur with such simple folly!

Edit: I've tried playing them in WinAmp, and it comes up as horrendous static. So, I'm assuming that there's something more to deciphering these files, yes? Perhaps it's just an unsupported type?

You can play the files with the Miles sound system. it's available here (demo is free):
http://www.radgametools.com/default.htm)

If you want to be able to listen to the files with basically any normal application such as window media player, sound recorder, etc.you can decompress the files with Miles sound tools (same url as above) and then save in a new folder.

This should work for the files contained in streammusic and streamwaves but not with streamsounds.

You can extract streamsounds with Kotor tool.

Hah! Marvelous! Thank you very much.

Do you know what their file extension is, so I can compress the .mp3 files into that format? Does Miles do that, as well?

Edit: Everything else solved. I just need a file format to compress it into. Miles doesn't show me.
