i have realsead a couple of mods, but since i can't host, i email them, does this discouarge people from geting them? i like to email them so i know how many people use my mods, that way i know if my mods are benifting the community. so basicly i am asking would more people download them if they were hosted? or basicly would anyone who really wants will ask anyway?
Well, I'd prefer to have them hosted, but whatever suits you. By the way, can you send you acidgreen looking saber to me at RudraDragon57@comcast.net please?
id say getting them hosted is easier because if u have a link to a mod that u want all u gotta do is click the link and the DL starts, as opposed to haveing it emailed which takes longer cuz the person sending the file may not be online for hours days weeks or even monthes
edit: yea can i have it too jedi_xtrmist@yahoo.com
files sent, if i get them hosted, is there any way to keep track of numberof downloads?
It depends on the sight really. Pcgamemods keeps track of their JA downloads; you just need to find the right site.
Get them hosted it will save you a major headache later on :)
I got 20 mb of freespace at angelfire my whole site is under 2 mb including all the ziped up mod files.
if your intrested chek it out

I have been saying the same thing :)
t7 : maybe make a new sticky about hosting and stuff , places to host pics , and places that are willing to host files ie Uru and anyone else
and make it stand wout with flashing lights , sirens and neon signs :D
Greetings:
Since spam email harvesting is abound; hosting is better.
Thank you.
Plus you don't have to keep emailing the file if its hosted. Peeps can download it on their own.
I agree hosting would be better. I'd really prefer not to give my email out when i see some of the uber groovy stuff the modding gods come out with, ya know? Too bad that guy who was gonna make a site just dropped off the face of the planet.
