How do I remove parts of a model without leaving a white void on the player?

I want to get rid of a certain model's pouch belt and such but I have no idea how to do so. Any suggestions?

in the .skin file, instead of the path to texture (of that surface), put *off instead.

If turning off a surface leaves a white void (Whole in the model.) then that surface must remain on.

or of course if there's an augment surface (that would normally be off), put a texture on that, too. :)
