We are having a debate at the Jedi Academy about modified saber staff hilts. What we want to know, exactly, is the true range of a saber. We have two theories. One is that its the visible length from the hand to the end of the saber. The other is that its the saberLength variable stored in the pk3 file. Anyone know for sure which one it is?
Specifically, some of the staff hilts found in certain saber packs, like the Kensai staves, have shorter hilts than the default, but saberLength = 40. The rear end of these staves are noticibly longer, but the front half is just a tad bit longer. Is the damage scored at range 40 for these staves regardless of the length of the hilt or is the hilt size factored into the equation?
Oviously its the number stored in the pk3.
The saber extends from the blade tag stored in the glm to the end of the number stored in the saber def file.
So if someone sticks the tag so its partly into the saber model it can effect the length "percieved" Either way its still 40 units long. ;)
Well you see im a staffer, and i find the hit range quite short most of the time......
So your saying that you want the range of a multi bladed saber the same as a single bladed saber?

I think he just wants to know the range of the multi blade :)

Staff has shorter range than single and duals. If you switch stance with staff to the single yellow, and u mesure it with a single saber, u ll c yours is shorter. The staff is like two stingers together.
Stinger is the short blade for single saber.
