I don't see the destinction between 'action' and FPS/TPS ... is this just a way of not deciding between Max Payne, JA and CoD? ;)

For me, I don't play so many genres:
FPS - Jedi Academy
RPG - KotOR
Expansion - NWN Hordes of the Underdark

GotY - KotOR, by quite a stretch.

Overrated Game of the Year:
Call of Duty: this is an excellent game. Good fun, nice graphics, good AI. But it has no plot, nothing new to offer - just a updated MoHAA, IMO. Not saying that's a bad thing, but not GotY material.

I almost think we need to start breaking SP and MP apart for some of these genres.

Call of Duty is def. Game of the Year material. it is the first game i played that made me feel like i was in the game, its so immersive. more games need to be like it or PC games are never going to break the movie barrier
