Sorry if it's been covered, but will the StarWars BattleFront community get support off the game developers, Patches, PunkBuster...etc.... ?
Lucasarts doesn't like punkbuster, I don't think it would be added at all
Patches; Well with the different bonuses on each side, I think a patch could be released after a month or two, fixing the balance and some bugs.
Most games get a patch, maybe two; especially those with an online gaming community.
Depending on the success of Battlefront, I would guess we can expect at least one expansion pack, two patches and some downloadable maps to enhance / encourage online play.
It worked wonders for Battlefield; people are still crowding the servers of the original game, due to lots of support, patches (about 5 already; all enhancing the experience) and numerous downloadable maps. The latest version of Battlefied included a map-editor; about 14 months after it's release ! That all goes to show how faith in the longevity of a game can make or break it..
The game looks like it will be popular, with popularity comes cheats....will the comunity be left up to making anti-cheat programs?....Still, is there hope for PunkBuster? if not then will they atleast offer somthing else?
they'll just offer security updates i think instead, punkbuster is a third client program and my guess is LEC doesn't like to combine it with their product, or offer support for it etc
