They ain't no tribe. They are a unified collection of beings that have a similar trait known as force apptitude and want to use that trait to keep peace and unity in the galaxy. I wouldn't call that a tribe. :D

i would try the rebels though the wookies seem to be powerful as well...

the rebels have good troops and air units, so they should be pretty interesting.

yeah, there's a certain lure, eh ?
it always seems the good guys get the 'underdog' position in terms of weaponry. i think for GB Lucasarts won't be thinking of good guy / bad guy relations in terms of strength.
 Tie Guy
08-02-2001, 5:52 PM

Yeah, isn't it kinda wierd that alot of people like to always play the bad guys?

And yeah, i don't think that the evil sides will be more powerfull just becasue they're evil.

For GB, the main lure will be the graphics. From the discussion so far, it seems that the Gungans will be interesting because of the Fambaas.

interesting maybe, but not good. They were going to fix some unbalance problems concerning the shield

Anyways, i think that the biggest lure will be the license and the engine (gameplay).

i meant graphical lure for certain civs.
of course the lure of GB as a whole is the engine and subsequent gameplay !

some civs just looks plain cooler than others..
 Tie Guy

Oh, the lure for the different civs for me are their strengths and weaknesses.

AOK players will have a better time adapting to the characture change. every civ. has the same units except for two.(ex. Vikings=Beserker+Longboat, Koreans=War Wagon+Turtle Ship) It would be pretty cool to see different units battling against each other other than the same units battling eachother(ex.Long Swordsmen vs. Long Swordsmen, Knight vs. knight, etc.) it gets annoying after awhile:swear:

I think i see what you mean. You're saying that instead of swordsmen v swordmen you can see rebel trooper vs stormtrooper, right?

Yes, i'm glad that they decided to go for different units for different civs. It just wouldn't be Star Wars if all the civs looked alike. I am glad, however, that all the civs match in terms of use, that way you can play all the civs, not jus the ones with your favorite unit.

right.
i'm so glad that they changed it all. maybe microsoft will get some pointers with this game with different types of units other than just one/two different units per civ.
 Darth_Rommel
08-03-2001, 9:44 PM
#30
Yeah, except the units are unique due to their art and tech tree's. The imps have an atat and the alliance has a juggernaught- same basic unit, till u upgrade :(
 Tie Guy
08-03-2001, 10:33 PM
#31
Yeah, but i wish the alliance had something else, the juggernaught looks kinda stupid to me.

I wonder what the "power weapons" are for the other civs. I think it is a huge boomer shooting dino for the gungans, but what else?
 Paragon_Leon

The Gungans used big catapult-boomers in TPM, so those will probably be ported over to the game.
There's a screenshot in PC Gamer (realy tiny) that shows a Trade Federation droideka-type unit that i think is their blaster cannon, the Empire of course has the blaster-cannon that they set up while the Falcon escaped from Hoth, and Naboo will have something thought up by the designers. Although there might be some kind of cannon in the PC game of TPM. Wookies is the same.

Thanks, but i meant what would their largest mech be, not the trebuchet type weapon. Any thoughts on that.

The Fambaa looks their greatest unit by far. Then there's that butt-ugly whale you were talking about that probably is their version of a transport. other than that, i have seen some infantry units, but they were normal size.

What i wqas saying is that i one screen with the gungans you can see a giant dino with a gun thing on his back, not a shield. you should check it out. You can also see the juggernaught, and the ATAT, but what are the equivilants of those in the other civs? Do you have any idea?

For the Trade Fed. it is those... Oh Crap I forgot thier name...MTTs or something like it...Look at the screenshots on this site it is the one where they are facing the Naboo. Also for the Naboo it is probably those speeder on the same pictue.
( take this link to see the picture-

a small speeder wouldn't be the top mech, and neither would a transport i don't think. Or at least, i wouldn't want a transport as my top mech, that would be a major turnoff for me.

It most likely is because the Rebel Juaggernat is a transport and so is the At-At. The speeder well I have no clue. That was just a guess.

but what of the wookies?

I really can't tell. They don't have enough screenshots yet to say.
 Tie Guy

Yes, we have yet to see the wookies', but hopefully it will be a powerful weapon that can attack, not just a transport like the TF.

Well everbodys equivalent of the At-At is most likely going to be a transport of some type sorry, but if they all have to be similar...

Has somebody thought about Ugnaughts ? I kinda liked them in ESB. They seemed pretty comical but never really were explored fully.

There just workers, and really couldn't fight if they wanted too. That is why they are such common slaves.
