How can I use the GTK Radiant to make jk3 maps. I download the Radiant and first it makes me make stuff for a bunch of other games. Then I try to use it for Jk2 and even jk3 (i don't have jk3 yet) and it doesn't work. Any way I can just use the regular Radiant to make maps. BTW, does the GTK radiant even have things like vehicles and junk so is it the best radiant to use for jk3? Thanks in advance.
Regular Radiant?
You have to download the Raven pack, not the other one.
You can put anything in Jedi Academy, such as vehicles and the concussion rifle :), in your maps with GTK Radiant.
GtkRadiantSetup-1.3.13raven.exe sound right?
BTW SWEET! How easy is it to add vehicles change their characteristics like speed and weapons and make them respawnable. If you could answer this too that would be cool. :D
THANKS! I tried it and it worked. But where can you do the stuff with the vehicles? Just wandering.
You have to make a brush and then turn it into an NPC_Vehicle entity. Then use the key NPC_Type and give it the value of a vehicle, like swoop_mp or swoop_mp2 (or swoop for single player). There are other vehicles, but I could not find them. I know some of them, (i.e. the X-Wing) but I don't know their actual names. You can try looking for vehicles.dat as the entity description says, look in the assets files.
Well, actually I don't have JA. I'll have to wait till xmas. I just wanted to get it all setup :) which I did with your help. I have one question for you because I don't have it yet. Because you have it, when you click on the entities menu does it say or do anything in GTK Radiant. Does it give you a list of entities like what would happen in the jk2 radiant?
Yeah, all you need to do is press n and you'll get the entity/description list.
I'm glad to help!
LOL. Hey I'm not a noob. I know you didn't say it but you thought it :D Actually, the problem was I forgot to make the entity list bigger so it looked like there wasn't any list. But its fixed now ;) SO, I actually need the game to have the textures. DO you think its a good idea to map anyway, or should I wait. (lol I know another noobie like question :) )
Nah, I wasn't thinking it.... Sometimes I make easy mistakes!
Anyway, you can begin making the map, but don't go too far, perhaps leaving it in the earliest stages, because you would only be able to test it in JK2 but you might get different results and it will be very frustrating to go too far and find out that you have to change a ton of stuff.
