what i need to know is how do you make a brush transparent and passable as I am trying to make a static field that you can walk thru and see thru.....

system/nodraw, or system/caulk_nonsolid would be your shaders of choice. :)

I dont want to make it invisible....I want it to have an texture but be able to be passed thru by an player, like an force field that you walk thru kinda effect.

They mean cover the brush in nodraw then texture only one side with the shader you want to use. That will make it nonsolid.
