Started work on this a while ago but what with the Dewback, N1, Speeder-Bike, Acklay & Biker Scout, haven't had time to get back to it...
Texture is just a temp colour map.

expect more soon :D
Ah, a Nexu. Those things are fierce. (and mean, scratching pretty Padme) I liked it how it yelped like a dog when it recieved that vicious kick in the arena. Still, it'd be one heck of a guard animal.
I look forward to seeing more of it!
i think itd be one hell of a steed too, riding it into battle against a rancor:D
thats if it was going to be a vehicle of course...
anyway good work!

yeah, probably similar to a cat arching it's back/hair standing on end/porcupine.
Yeah, spines and teeth too ;)
I've done them but I'm still working out which way will be the most practicle (And use the fewest points!)
Ah cool, I cant wait to see it. I have the Acklay and Nexu toys on top of my pc, and yes I am a collector. And I guess I will start on some sounds for you also monsoon.
Great work! Just 1 to go for my sandarena :P
I wanna be a beta tester (maybe to soon, but by the acklay I was to late, so...)
Can you also make a version of it where you can't ride on them?
There is
Unfortunally, you can't make one both attack and ridable.

Is there one for JA? Where can I download it?
"Sigh!"
"He will LEARN patience."
The one you can ride and the one you can't are the same thing - just one is the npc version and the other the vehicle version.
Changed the pic at the top of this thread to show the model with a temporary texture applied.
Cool...but you ride ontop of those spikes? Ow? Might want to put a padded sabble on or somthing...;)
Wow. looks really nice. Saw your sith speeder at jk2files, and that looks really sweet. Hope you find a nice way for the player to sit on it without... ouch. Anyways, i have some other questions i would like to ask you, so could you IM me on AIM? I'm CazorFett. Thanks, and good luck with this beast.
You can PM me here with questions. I don't use any sort of IM programs.
I love your work I really wish you would join our Team.
Unfortunately, my spare time is VERY slim (& Los Angeles traffic is very bad)
Wow LA huh. Unfortunatlly I live in a very small town so I don't know what thats like.
I'm not overly fond of LA (Too much traffic) and am hoping to move back to Middle E... I mean New Zealand in the next couple of years.
:D I wanna go with you to :(
Great, let's switch homes... You get to live in old, boring, little Denmark, and I go to LA!:p
By the way, forgot to mention, great looking kitty you've got there!
Unless you have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ LA is just like anywhere else, and did I mention the traffic?! ;)
ALso something else they don't tell you about LA is the fog (They call it the marine layer)!!!
question: which program are you using for modelling??
Where can I get it?
Lightwave 7.5. But I would suggest going with GMAX (free cut down version of 3DS max) or downloading the demo of MAX 6 if you intend to model for Jedi Knight.
Although I personally feel Lightwave has the better modeler, 3DSMAX is more compatile with the plugins for making Jedi Academy stuff.
If you're interested in 3D animation, download the MAYA 5 personal learning edition (it's free)
3D Studio Max isn't that bad for animating either.
I'm still waiting for Wudan's "Dragon"
Of course, it all comes down to what you the artist do with the tools.
Did I mention Keshire now has my Biker Scout model for processing?
Should get to do some more work on the Nexu this weekend.
awesome moonside! do you have any screens of ther biker scout?
I think the spikes should be thiner, and I have an idea how. Make a thin box, and use shaders to make it spikes.
I don't know anything about shaders, so I'm not sure about it.
For a pic of the Biker Scout, check out page 2 of the JKA: Vehicles WIP - Speeder Bike, STAP & Dewback Pix thread.
I don't think a shader will do for the spines as although doing thaat way would save on polygons, the main problems are that it's a very 2 dismensional look and secondly you can't really animate them if done that way.
