Where are the CTF servers?

I am a major fan of CTF and JA has awesome maps for it! The only problem is that there aren't many good servers that are filled. Does anybody know of any good servers?

Chop Shop servers are usually pretty full. I forgot the address though.

Thank you .:Silver:.:amidala:

I sent JDKnite188 a private message with some CTF-only default-configuration servers, because I have a feeling he is looking for that sort of thing (hard-core competition-level CTF players). My server alternates 5 FFA maps with 5 CTF maps and has increased saber damage and faster force regeneration.

Due to the problem where an fc cannot be killed (with escorts) in s/o ctf, there are few servers. Chop shop is bump and kill, with uber regen for the whores. Its not competetive ctf, but its better than the tosh raven defaulted.

Wow....thank you! Coming from you, that is high praise indeed, and I'm being sincere:amidala:

If only more good CTF players like you would come by and give the newbs some coaching, it could only help the community. I know it is very frustrating to deal with newbs who have no clue about teamwork, but think of it as a public service. Yes, they are not ready to grasp the subtlties of FF S/O CTF, but they need to learn the basic tactics first: defense, escorting flag carriers, strafe jumping, etc. Somebody has to teach them and show them how it's done, and if you could spare a few minutes of your time every day it would be great.

Sorry I personally believe all noobs should be shot, their game confiscated and then them publically humiliated, but thats just me.

I don't play JA s/o ctf because I find for a supposedly 'new game' its far too similar to a JK2 thats had its best and in some cases critcal parts removed in favour of a more unskillful style.
Chop Shop is good for solving s/o ctf problems for uncompetetive games, but not for the competetive games that would attract me. :p

Wow, I hope that was a joke. If not, what a moronic comment to make. Everyone, even you, started out as a n00b and then learned how to play the game. If you don't like how someone is playing then try and help them out and teach them how to play better. If you don't want to do that, then just leave the server. Everyone has a right to play the game, n00b or not. Get your own server and keep it locked if you don't like the noobs.

I had a JK2 server, for public use. When I was online, if I thought any of the players were noobs, I'd ban them. Simple. It keeps the level of skill up and the competetiveness high. btw i'm not talking about just 'unskilled players'. I'm talking about the people who stand there...wave blue style a little...strand there...stare at you...turn around slowly...walk a little...stand there. These are the people who I believe are the scum of online games, taking up server slots when good players wait in queues.
btw i'm not going to host JA in its present uncompetetive state until obvious flaws are fixed.

Sounds like you’re taking yourself way too seriously man, it's a game. I mean I'm fairly competitive and all when playing online but still, it's a game meant to have fun. I can understand you're dislike of the n00bs that are not playing and just horsing around but you seem to still include the unskilled players in your post. I don't really understand how someone can be really "skilled" where the hit detection in JA/JO is a joke and unbalanced. There is ALOT of luck in this game. Sure, u can get good at it, but there is still no discrete system to it, just a lot of flailing of your lightsaber. Most duels come down to who the better flailer is... :p

Yeh its a game, which is why I want to play it, instead of staring back at complete idiots with blue stance.
JA hit detection is a joke and JA s/o ff is very unbalanced, not to mention s/o ctf. And yes it was originally like that in JO, but there were mods that did fix, or almost fixed the hit detection.
Its like playing football. You can play against a bunch of guys who can't kick a ball or a bunch of guys who are good at the game...

Well, I am glad there are responses. The fact is that the n00bs should get a little better by just learning some basic tips and applying them. It is more fun if you can do more :)

I have no trouble finding CTF servers to play on, simply load up ASE and look around.

If you're looking for "that one perfect server that has great ping and is never full but always has people on it that are good" well that's just the luck of the draw me boy.. ; )

In the land of accidental multi-posts, the one-click man is king!

(Sorry couldn't resist!)

And yes it was originally like that in JO, but there were mods that did fix, or almost fixed the hit detection.

Ah, now the truth comes out! JK2 wasn't perfect and needed mods to make it perfect (or almost perfect)! Well, just hold your horses 'till the JA SDK then! ; )

JK2 wasn't by any means perfect. However JK2 wasn't polluted with less functionality than its predecessor...cough JA cough.

There are no default ones using the patch, that I can find.
Not sure if this goes for all, but I think most of the competive comm. has either un-installed or left there servers on the 1.0 version w/ the bigger hit boxes or whatever, correct me if I'm wrong (speaking to the arrogant elite bas*****).

I suggest Chop Shop, decent folks, more realistic saber damage, less bitching, more overall fun. Most people on that server don't have a problem finding someone hiding w/ the flag, though there are some good spots to hide(hide and seek, great fun), and the scores don't have to break 500 there.

one other thing 've never seen a tie game in ctf

Wait, so removing 1 move and adding over a dozen more translates to "less functionality"? Okay.

I suppose since kick worked in a few combos you'll include those too, but what about the new combos from the new moves? Etc.

Just say you don't like the different feel to JA from JK2 1.04 and be done with it. That I can understand, not this innuendo.

Sorry for the delayed response Kurgan, yeah I was rather serious.
I don't know the proper terminology for the issue regarding aim.[ie: hit boxes, ghoul2(whatever the heck that is), I don't know mang, I'm not programmer.]

I appologize if I made it confusing just curious if the people that were asking for a patch were actually using it.(not directed to anybody in-peticular), just wondering what the Elite people thought of the patch, I know some think its crap and most are just waiting for the SDK (or whatever it is, again I'm not a programmer)

If your toying with me, haha, you got me. ; )

Besides, your not an arrogant bastard Kurgan.

Yeah, I have been using ASE ever since the game came out. I play a lot of Siege (HOTH AND DESERT O - W- N) on the weekends, the only time I really have to play, but I have been going to "Chop Shop" and "OSF Forest Moon of Endor OwP" more lately.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think that the Coruscant CTF map is a beauty. It's architecture, complexity, and great gameplay are awesome. It's a favorite, but all the maps are quite fun.

I hope to see you people some time online.
