I've tried that one 100 times and can only get silver.

no way. You have to destroy that at-at neare the generator first, then go to that at-at by the place you started, and fly around until the gate has been destroyed (do NOT let the atat that's supossed to be attacking the atpts over past the gate in your site or you'll lose one or 2 of them) then when the at-pts pass through the gate and are heading to to the canyon, prepare to blast those tanks, it's best to get as close as possible to their starting point, and blast them up. Then all you need to do is take out those tie bombers and you should complete the mission (after the bombers are gone, go take out the shield and then get your powerup and then destroy the weapons factory.
