help with non solid brushes

in some maps (eg. ragnos) they have textured brushes that are non solid.
how is this done?

Make a brush out of system/nodraw and then texture 1 side only (Ctrl+Shift+Click to select 1 brush side) You can usually texture up to 2 sides before it may go solid, depends on the way the brush was created (direction created) among other things....they really should just have a nonsolid flag so you don't need to multi-texture brushes or use shaders!

As well, JA has caulk_nonsolid for fog, caulk_water for water, caulk_lava for lava, and caulk_acid for acid.
