It's been half a year since Lucasarts released the press release and website for the new Sam and Max game, they haven't said anything else since, and it's half a year until it's released.

What do you think's going on? Either the project is lagging behind, or Lucasarts is keeping it behind doors in order to suprise us. I hope it's the latter, because after the tragic FT2 cancellation, I don't want ANOTHER adventure game cancelled.

Its still in pre-production according to the interview at adventuregamers. Production may well have started by now, I dont know but I dont think theres much danger of cancellation right now. There will more likely be updates when the game is nearing completion.

You never know... I really doubt this game is going to sell well at all.

Well, if everyone in this forum buys 100 copies then thats about...700 copies. It's definately gonna need outside assistence to be a hit.

i'd buy it, but if it's only on the xbox (console version) and i don't have an xbox when it's released, there may be a problem. i can still see it being released, and hopefully good reviews will make it a hit.

As far as anyone knows, it's PC only. So no X-box version.

The one Infinate Machine was releasing a couple years ago that got cancelled was X-Box only, but since Lucasarts started on a sequel that is no longer the case. It is indeed a PC game.

Does anyone know why Full Throttle 2 was cancelled? Besides that crappy reason LucasArts gave us, I mean.

Us adventure game fans should revolt... let 'em know that the adventure games market isn't SO small :)

They missed milestones.

It was repeated many a time.

Well, the adventure game market may not be that small, but it is still much smaller than the markets for other games...
I can't wait for Sam 'n' Max 2 tho :) Hopefully if they give it enough of a good view to the fans of other genres then it might be a hit, i think the comedy factor will be major factor :)

I like the adventuregame market as it is. It means I only have to buy about one game a every two years as most adventure games suck very bad.

Very frugal, dear Watson.

I'd like it better if they would release them a little more often, but yeah, as is, it's kinda nice not to have to shell out the cash and do the difficult thinking that often.

And then the other guy is all "That's your spleen, Doofus!"

It won't be cancelled, it's set to be released in a couple months, they're far into production. They're just too busy working on it to spew a couple more pictures to rabid fans. Relax, take it easy, good things come with time.

Uh Skinkie, this may come as a surprise to you, but we're not the only Sam and Max fans in the whole world.

.....Or are we???

So, while we're waiting on the keeping-it-under-wraps-very-well Lucasarts to release Sam and Max 2, let's speculate! And I'll help get the speculation started!

My question is: Will it be point-n-click, or will it have that boring engine from EMI and GF?

Hey ya :)

Myself and my hubby are big Sam and Max fans and have been waiting and waiting for the next one.

I'm sure there are lots more wayward fans out there too who just haven't found this place. :D

I just found it today. Was hoping the game was out already or very soon. Would have made an excellent Christmas present. >.<
