If so, then does that mean I need to buy a 16 instead of the 32 like I was going to get?
This may or may not be true, because we don't know how many players will be able to play in siege mode. But I am kinda hoping it will only be a maximum of 16 becaue I am an old school 56k user, and I don't plan on getting a faster line in the near future anyways. But I won't be playing multiplayer for at least a month :). Because the SP looks like it will hold me over till there are some decent mods out there :p.
site says 16, chances are it's 16.
That's not true. LEC isn't exactly all knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the game. They said JO supported only eight players... what a load of crap.
I'm pretty sure any Q3 engine game can, by default, get up to 64 players, at least.
In the setup menu, JK2 had 32 players.
I think what they're talking about here is the "recommended" number of players, based on hardware and connections.
You can try more, but it might be laggy...
I don't know why they would take out the 32 player option.
Its not like taking this out will automatically mean non laggy JO multiplayer. Its obvious that the more players = the more lag.
On the site it says:
"How many players does Jedi Academy multiplayer support?"
"Jedi Outcast (no idea why in the wolrd they said that :P) supports up to 16 players via LAN or online via 56kbs or fast connection to the internet."
Well...because there are still some errors on the site, I'm inclined to question some of the information that is displayed there. In the immortal works of C-3PO... "you know better than to trust a strange computer!"
The bottom line is, no one will know the exact intricacies of the game until we can all play it.

Are you Ric Olie in disguise? :D
Anyways, back on subject, I doubt it will be 16. It'll probalby be possible to increase the size, if they don't have it in the game itself, someone will easily find a way. (Like the hunkmegs hack in ET that allows you to increase number of possible palyers)
I am hoping that 16 players in the limit for a server. Its just not reasonable. Why would LucasArts limit it to that when JO ran 32 person servers? WRAA~
i think 16 players would be fine because you dont want to play like 30 people and have the connection be so slow
I think that in rtcw, you could have up to 64 players. Although it lagged like hell.
That isn't a problem, I can play on 64 player ET servers without any trouble.
It's simply an error on the site. I mean, comon, it says Jedi Outcast, not Jedi Academy.
