Has anyone got enough treasures(2500) yet to be able to buy the secret map?
As long as you pick up at least half of the treasures from each level and don't spend all your money on first aid etc you should have enough money for thr map.
Bullets especially are a real waste of money as you only get five for 50 coins and can pick up hundreds along the way.
Yea. The map takes you to "Return to Peru". You go back to where Indy had the idol stolen from him in the Radiers of the Lost Arch.

I would suggest you hold off going to Peru for as long as possible. It is an extremely difficult map but a very fun one to end the game on.
