i have a question, why wasnt the AT-AT used against the rebels in the battle of endor? we saw it when vader landed so why wasnt it used along with the AS-ATs?
i'd guess there were too many trees...
they were too big and wouldnt be able to see through them, and they might not be able to walk through them.
AT-AT's are used more for invading than anything else, the AT-ST's were perfect for skirmish situations such as Endor
yeah i thought that they would probably not be able to walk through the forest so that was the reason
but why would they have something for invading on endor because they dont plan to attack anybody else on the planet do they?
AT AT's arent too good against ground forces really, their better against buildings or other mechs, just like in Galactic Battlegrounds really.
then why did the empire have one on endor in the first place because there are no other buildings, all they have is ewoks, i dont see why they had it
Maybe it was to destroy any buildings on the planet that the empire needed gone, or maybe some fans after ESB loved them so much that they decided to just show one in RotJ. Or maybe they have nowhere else to put it lol.
ok, i was just watching the movie and saw that and was just wondering
Almost all of the Empire's "arsenal", including AT-ATs and AT-STs, are used not primarily as effective combat weapons, but to scare and instill fear into the heart of the enemy. How would you feel if you say this giant, towering 50-feet metal behemoth charging at you? You would probably freak out, drop your weapons, and give up. Just like how the Death Star was built as a tool by the Empire for controlling the galaxy and instilling fear into the hearts of its inhabitants, most of the rest of the Empires weaponary is used in a similiar fashion. It is quite an effective strategy, because by making the enemy or potential rebels scared and afraid to act and do something, the Empire will not have to deal with so many small skirmishes, and instead concentrate on dominating the galaxy.
love the location, sig, and icon wassup :D
/\ He's had that all since...since I signed up here, it seems like.
Anywayz, the AT-AT's aren't just walking fortresses, they're also armoured troop carriers.
well where would they be carrying troops to?
Well the entire shield facility wasn't just located in one direct spot was it.
would the at-ats really be able to travel through the woods to other shield facilities if the trees were in the way?
well the trees weren't HUGE all over the place as you could see, and AT-ATs aren't light, I guess when they walk they kinda clear a path for themselves lol or paths were made for them when the Imps settled
but wouldnt it have been easier to move by speeder bike?
I suppose this is one of those questions that should be sent into SW.com.

Can 1 speeder carry 40 troops at once?
i dunno, i was just wondering why it was on the planet but not in the final battle
It's been said before, AT-ATs are better for destroying buildings and vehicles not single ground personnel.
well, an AT AT would be kind of useless in trooper warfare since it would kill all of your troopers in the process of killing theirs.

It's like wassup said.
Another great example, which is one of my favorites, and actually is an effective weapon aswell: Star Destroyers.
With it's wedge shape it is hard not to back down when it comes straight at you.
And because of this shape, most of it's weapons can target something directly in front of it. I would guess about 90 prosent of them compared to a Mon Cal which won't be able to aim more than max 60 prosent of their guns forward. And almost 50 prosent would be able to target something on the sides. In addition it has some very heavy turrets (3 heavy turbolasers and 1 heavy Ion Cannon on each side on the ISD Mark I, and 4 heavy Turbolasers on each side on the ISD Mark II) that cover the upper part of each broadside.
In addition they are huge. :D
The only major weakpoint on it would be an attack from the rear.
and to prevent that from happening they have a mother load of TIEs lol
When luke surrendered they put him inside the ATAT... i think.
Just in case someone was wondering, AT AT mean all terrain attack transport ;) i just wanted to say that :D
Anyways, if the ATAT had been in the battle, if it tried to move, it would step on the stormtroopers ;)
It's All-Terrain Assault Transport...not Attack...there's a difference.
lol, talk about being shot down XD lol
alright :D i was trying to remember what the dude said in force commander... you know when dellis.. or whatever was ganna switch to the rebels, and he was an imperial general, then he went to the rebel ship, and they arrested him. Then they asked him why they should trust him, then said cause i can get you a all terain assault transport :p got most of it right :p
Oups...I made a mistake...
It's ''All-Terrain Armored Transport'' ot assault or attack.
