Who can make the best looking sabers of them all? I ask you the public to make really good looking sabers, true to the movies. We'll see who has the best sabers. Me first! The quality of the glows and blades may be a bit low because of the upload and stuff, but my sabers > all.

You did a good job. Was it textured or everything solely 3D. And ther's another thing I'm always stuck while working with glow.

I guess you were using MAX and it works with glow a bit wrong. When you create a laser beam cylinder or whatever you used and start Lens Effects it renders only whats within the frame you render, that's why there's no glow at the border of thw screen. MAX counts these borders to be the end of mesh by default while in reality the beam is much longer and it should be seen glow should not deem. I can only achieve the result of a "longer beam" either by not using the glow of 3dsmax but using alpha channel in Corel Photopaint or making a bigger picture and then cut the edges to make it look real.

Give me a few days I'll give a saber you will never forget;) .

No i meant Lens Effects in Max, I wouldn't have used LensFlares in photoshop either. I just say that your great looking image is not entirely correct. So how did you do it or is it your family secret?

Not to be rude or anything, but...shouldn't this be in the Swamp, and not in the Senate?

I think that sometimes people need to relax. While everything is so complex and mostly one sided (Iraq) in here there must be something out of this world (from the swamp, or whatever). And it's not a massive, just a single thread on the forum. If you don't like it, Breton, I can understand but that is not the reason to drop a thread to the Swamp. The only criterion for this forum i thought was serious discussion and not serious topics while I think 3D graphics and professional computer painting that obikin shows is complex enough to be discussed here. Don't you think?

I'm gonna move this to the showcase forum - if you want it another place, ask the local mods.

It'll get more attention there anyway.

And oh, those are some damn nice sabers!

Those are some HOT sabers, especially for me as a bit MAUL fan, they belong in the Showcase forums.;)

Okay. This is a redesign of the single player saber. Obviously, this is not the in-game model. It's a high-res model I used to get the design and the textures right. I based the saber on a combination of the Yun, Qu Rahn, and Luke Skywalker sabers with some added influence from the Bryar pistol. I felt Kyle's saber should pay homage to that trusty weapon.
