Whats the music genre in GF, mostly in Part 2 (manny's casino, high rollers lounge and what not). Such as se saxophone songs?
Some kinda blues or jazz, but are there any specific songs or artists or 'sub-genres' u would recommend.
if you are looking for something simliar to the ambient in the blue casket, listen to john coltrane. he is possibly the best jazz sax player ever, and certainly one of the most revolutionary. get something like the very best of.. or blue train by him. another great in the jazz world was a bloke called django reinhardt who played guitar. that's a bit swingy and maybe not quite as introspective as the avant garde stuff, but still good. as for blues, someone like stevie ray vaughan (with his band double trouble) would be a good place to start for a white man.
Thanks, I'll try some of that!
Yeah, definatley check out John Coltrane, imho, the best jazz player off all time.
Go for Charles Mingus and Oscar Peterson as well. Mingus gets nice and loud and crazy, Peterson is a little more delicate, but its all delicious.
Albums I recommend are "Oh Yeah" and "Blues and Roots" by Mingus, and anything by Peterson.
IMO Coltrane is horrible, like bad avant-garde classical music. Coltrane isn't strictly even in the style of the background music in Blue Cascet. Coltrane plays just... we'll I can't write it, obviously, but very boringly.
The kind of music is beeb bop/swing jazz. A little blues also.
My favourite song in Grim Fandango is Companeros. I like this kind of mexican music. You can download this song from official site of Grim Fandango. Nice listen :)

(Just happened to have a browser window open with that site ... was checking some of the goodies there.) :)
My favourite has to be Ninth Heaven, very nice peace of music there, nice tune and a quick tempo make it my favourite.
i really like all of them...
I also like the music at the Blue Casket, the music of Rubacava and the Los angelitos...but they all talk to the heart ;)
