It's best to get the equiptment, utitilies and tools.
Then get some good tutorials.

From what I've seen, most modellers are too busy on projects to take up apprentices to learn. ;)

what is so hard about the concept of a showcase forum that is for showing your work??
why can people not use general editting, why do they not get it??

Well after investigating the section, I think it was accident that they "put" the section here. When you click the Editing Central link it gives a list of sections. Modeling is there, but no where does it say that its in Showcase. So lay off.

modelling is a subforum of showcase, hence the purple boxes next to it. and if you look at the top it does say:
LucasForums > Network > JediKnightII.net > Editing Central > Showcase forum > Modelling
