This is a project I just started working on a while ago, is set after the clonewars and the beginning of the Empire, you are Darth Vader, I wasn't going to post a working thread because i thought it would rush the work and i wouldn't get it the way I wanted it, but todayI saw a post with an idea similar to mine for an sp Mod, so I just wanted to let you know what I have been working on, I'll explain the story later on, for now some early screenshots:
Again this are EARLY screenshots, some stuff in here don't even look like that anymore, I'll update them later...

nice...you're using sw battlegrounds sounds i assume (the "surrender it to me or die"). looks cool. where do u folks get these insane mapping skills, is it hard work and patience, incredible skill, or tools?

Very nice indeed. Lord Vader is a daring main character, as everybody must already have some kind of a personal image of him. But you seem to have a proper approach with the STs (and the comment). In the movies we hardly ever saw Vader do any dirty work with his own hands.

However, put something under those mounted guns. They look kind of out of place standing on the grass.

It's a combination of the first two, really. The tool(s) are secondary.

Looks great, BTW. Just work out the grammar/spelling errors and it will look pretty professional. Don't forget to add some good voice acting.

Looks great!

Never thought about sabering mon calamari. What's that in shot 6? The blue, smaller npc? Looks like a younger mon calamari.

Also, is this going to be a series of levels or just one level?

Nice concept, but I too would like to know where some of you get your mapping skills. Blood Asp, Aru-Wen, Eagle_e7, Wedge 2211, Frendon, etc. Some of those creations look like things I could never make. Blood Asp's Divergence, Aru-Wen's Hogwarts, Eagle_e7's Project Minoan, Wedge2211's Tal Erulanei, and this, from Frendon. Some of the architecture is amazing.

wow, I never thought I would get such a nice respond, thanks, critiscism is welcome, for Vader I'm using sounds from the movie that I have cleaned and as you pointed out also galactic battleground sounds, the voice actor in that game was really awesome, just in a few lines I had to record my voice and alter the pitch with the magic of Goldwave, BTW if anyone can do a nice James Earl Jones voice that would help me a lot, the "younger" mon calamari is one of the skins that came with the mon calamari model, It's a really cool skin and I thought I'll use them as troopers, this is suppose to be just one level but the way I have written the story it is open for a sequel, it all depends on how well this level is accepted, ok, some screenshots (sorry if I don't post screenshots from new areas but I don't want to spoil the whole level):

This is more recent, he is holding a blaster pistol now:

Don't mind the textures on the ceiling:

Lookin' really good. But please, don't release too much pictures like the Super Star Destroyer one - those kinds of things are cooler to see in game for the first time. It has that "wow" effect, u dig?

Otherwise, good job! One minor point though: In the pic "Ready for battle", the ground looks a bit boring the way it is, all flat, no plants and just one texture. If you could add some shape to it, throw in a couple of rocks, trees or plants it would seem much more lifelike.

this is preetyy tight, ssd in orbit was a good touch. a question-will vader have full foce? it doesn't make much sense for him to have mind trick or lighting. however, level 1 or 2 Heal might be OK cuz he was so tore up safter ep3 he probably has to self-heal daily. btw, the "fools's security key"-that's from the Tavion maps released...by someone...

I really like the idea of charging into battle as a formidable Sith Lord, with a platoon of Stormtroopers backing me up. (Vader never was one for the covert action, was he? How many AT-STs are behind the stormies? :))

thanks, yup i know about the land, as I said before it isn't ready yet, i have lots of plans for that free space, and if you see also the fence is pretty simple, I already made a new one but It kind of lowered the fps a lot, so I'm trying to work a way around that, Vader won't have all the force powers, lightning won't be there and also he won't have force jump on 3 because he doesn't look right jumping like that and also some stuff on the level require that he isn't able to jump that high to work, about the SSD I'm working on a new skybox anyway so the new one will be a lot better so don't worry about that.

Ohh and yeah the fool's security key thing is from the tavion map by Patch, I think I will change that too.

This looking absolutely amazing! I can't quite believe how much fun it looks :)

If you're looking for voice actors I can probabaly hook you up with a few good 'uns who I've worked with before.

yup that's blood, I usually play with the blood mod, I like it and for this mod it gives it a darker feeling,I might include it as a separate pk3, with the author's readme file.
Kengo thanks a lot for the offer!!, I'll send you a pm later.
OK I have not worked on it lately but here is a last screenshot before I start working on the stuff I don't want you to see, it still needs a lot of work but the idea is there:

Great stuff frendon. I've always wanted to play a Vader level (I actually started working on one before I started Party Crasher).

If you haven't already, please read my cutscene article (http://www.commandchamber.net/articles/cutscenes/index.php). You'd probably find some of the information useful.

Yeah. The blood mod gives it a darker feel.

Nice job on Vader's chamber thing. Looks pretty cool.

Just a question about this picture, what is the bowcaster shot from? It looks like it's from the emplaced gun.

Oh, yes. This mod has excellent potential for some truly memorable cinematics. An opening cinematic with that chamber of Vader... I can imagine it so vividly that I wish I could do it myself...

thanks AKp, I saw your article the other day, haven't read it completely though, I'll do it soon.
master_t the bowcaster shot is coming from someone outside the fence "circle".
Lassev, don't worry I wouldn't have done his chamber if I wasn't planning to use it ;)

Sorry to re-start a semi-dead thread, I guess thats a bit of a no-no. Just wondering, if Frendon sees this, is this project dead or just going through a really slow patch?

Ah man this is so awesome, I hope he's still working on it. Probably one of the most awaited maps for me, up there with PC. Looking forward too it, now I got to get back to work on my own level.
