Does any1 know how the devs will implement the language filter into the game? Will they go round the staff asking each for a new swear word, and ban them that way? Or will they w8 and c what people say 1st and ban words accordingly? I need knowledge!!!!!

Expect a language filter, since they'll try to keep the rating as low as possible (i.e avoid M at all costs, and try not to get T)

It has to be rated T because of the Violence, and the fact that it is an online game and exposed to many diffrenet people. I'm sure they have a dictoniary of swear words somewhere. C&C: Generals even "bleep" out non-swear words like god and butt....

Yeah they really over did it in Generals. I think it was stated that the game will be T. The thing that sucks about that though is they'll probably leave out things like spice.

Nah, I think you were unlucky with the choice of server man. :D
I've never seen any server that has banned anyone without a warning first, and definatly not for life. :p

I don't remember where I learned this but the filter is optional. So you can type something to turn the filter on and then it's on. Type the same thing and it's off.

I'd have typed it this way Fuque. -que= k sound in French.
Go fuque yourself you fuquer. Lol.

A language filter is merely a way to spur you into figuring out more poetic and devastating ways to humiliate your target! ;)

For SW curses, just think of things that SOUND insulting when compared to the game.

1. Sith=Bad/Evil/Unwanted/Tyrant
2. Nerfherder=Dumb/Dull
3. Gungan=Moron/Idiotic/Clown
4. Droid=Yes man
5. Spit=Nasty slime of the mouth
6. Tatooine=Hot headed/Farmer/Lower-class

Then mix 'em together: "You Tatooinian Sith-droid! Gungan Spit on your entire Nerfherding FAMILY!!!"

Something like that I guess would have more Star Warsy feel to it.
:D :p ;)

Exactly, just think of the things that common RL cursewords means, and what thoughts and concepts they represent. Then exchange them for their counterparts in the SW world. And since all cultures bases their curses on different concepts, the more languages you learn, the more complete a foulmouthed freak you become!

Now, if that isn't a motivation to learn new languages, I don't know what is! :)

I don't know, it's just all logical if you think in terms of what your character would think. They don't know any cuss words from OUR time, so think in terms of theirs and it becomes simple.:p

I liked your response Sunshine Badass. It makes my sides hurt! I think that if you are going to RP then you should swear like you are in SW. So, that'd go along with this post.

*mr. burns* Ahh, I see. You all are a bunch of 'yes men' aren't you?
*they reply* Yes sir!

Either way they should have an option to have the filter on or off, like pshh..
And since we're paying for it why would we end up getting banned for swearing, we shouldnt be banned at all on Galaxies >.>

Behaving in such a way that you ruin other people's playing experience should get you banned, yes. Though, to me, saying a curseword now and then isn't such a big deal, but neither will you be banned for it. Walking around and shouting mean things to everyone you meet, however, is not acceptable.

You have to stop thinking "I've payed, so I have every right in the world!", because so has everyone else too.

Personally I'd leave the filter off, its just not as fun when you kill someone and you cant see them saying you Fing cnt blah blah. Its just not as funny.

One of his friends said, "Wizard!!" When they first saw his speeder. I totally agree- I was thinking, "hey, I didn't know people in a galaxy far far away said the same thing we do!"

Get it on DVD so u can skip all the bits with Jar-Jar. The end of Ep1 is by far the best lightsaber fight yet.
