Clearly the only option in Artoo.
Threepio is just annoying, which is exactly how he is supposed to be, i guess, but Artoo is much more a hero and actually does a lot of useful stuff.
R2 sucks without 3P0. 3P0 is not a great character without R2. They need to be judged as a pair. That is the only time they can be considered good...
I really think 3PO was almost made a fool of in Episode 2, which was a real shame, cos he's a great character. R2 will be great no matter what though:)
My vote goes to R2, he's just cooler, plus 3P0 can get really annoying.
who do i like better? or like r2 vs. 3po gladiator round or something (this'd be funny as #%^&!) ? I like r2 btter, he's always saving the day, always going (ala energizer bunny). 3po- he's sometimes fdunny, but he's always falling apart, whining, and doesn't save a thing.

I like R2 alot. But like Katarn07 said they have to be together. They don't work very well with out each other. Imagine R2 without C3PO? There would be nothing funny to hear except you can understand what R2 is saying in his beeps.
Goldenrod is pretty funny as well and does have his times. I dont find him annoying at all. He is the one that always comes up with something funny to say or does something funny too. But I guess I am going to have to go with C3PO. He's the one that makes R2 what he is. He is also funny as hell but does get annoying a little but it doesn't ruin it for me.

:wstupid: Artoo has 3PO beat in nearly every category. Lucas prefers Artoo, and the fact that Artoo has "Beneath The Dome" out on DVD( I got my copy :p ) puts him over the edge! Besides, if you watch any of the films, how many times does Artoo save the day? Really! :D

whilst i have no problem with homosexuality, i just don't find many heroic traits in a robot that acts like a Fairy.
umm ill go against the majority here and point out why i think 3po would win: he can hold and shoot a blaster, r2d2 cannot.
Im sure artoo could have a heavy blaster installed if he wanted. :D

R2 is the greatest! Golden Rod is just way to prisy for my liking. For a small droid R2 has certainly got a lot of courage. May he never rust...
Without R2, the galaxy would be a very different place - no Leia, no Han, no Luke Skywalker - no (good) Jedi. Of course, without 3PO, all 3 of them would have gotten squashed in the trash bin in Ep IV (along with Chewie), since R2 couldn't have used the communicator to find out that they needed help.
Still, I have to go with R2 on this one. :)
Without Han and 3PO there wouldn't be more than 1 movie b/c they would have been boring with no comic relief :rhett:
