This is not my first attempt at a map but its the first one ive been happy with so ive decided to continue with it. This map resembles some what the Duel of the Fates, the place where Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and Maul fight in Episode 1 but its not supposed to be that so dont go judging it by those standards:D. I havent done much on the map yet but i'll post updates when i have them. Im in the process of making a new site for my work so if there are no updates for more than a week its because im transfering them to my other site so dont think its dead. The map will consist of many platforms like the one u see in the screenshots i'll show u below, it will have different rooms on the bottom levels of the platforms and some sniping platforms on the top for all u disruptor users. As i said there isnt much yet but have a look at what i have right now!

Post any suggestions or comments here!

Just one question though, how do u add music? I tired zipping it up the way i saw it in the mapping forum but it didnt work. Im adding the duel of the fates music to it just so u know!

1.How do u add music?
2.Would anybody like to beta test it when its done?
3.Could anybody make a bot route for it?

Noone has posted yet!:cry6: :cry7: :cry8: But its probably cause there isnt much to see in the map yet but please help me! This map is turning out great and it will be a lot of fun to play on!

Updates!

Well ive worked some more and have added all of the basic pathways. I made the sniping platforms and the little hangar like rooms. (at this point there is only one hangar room but ill make an exact duplicate on the other side, so what do u think? not all the textures shown are what i will use, im going to make some custom ones but i just used these to get it in game.

You should work on the lighting some more. It's good those walkways have lights in them, otherwise you wouldn't see them. :D

The last pic does have more light, but the lighter part of the floor texture almost looks like it's glowing there. You probably should tone it down a bit there. Try using a lower light value and a higher radius value.

Music:

I can't believe i'm explaining this again ;) .

Deselect all brushes by pressing Esc a couple of times. Then go to the entity window and select worldspawn. Enter the key music and then as value the link to the music file you want to use.

Example from CTF_Bespin:

key: music
value: music/bespin_streets/BespinA_Action.mp3

yep.

If you use less light entities and just increase the radius a bit, like say to 512, you can get the same coverage.

I always do my lighting in Sp, because it looks so much better there and it gives me a better impression of how much light is needed in certain areas. Mp lighting is a bit messed up so it's alway hard to judge anything there.

I think its great for a padawan! Although on this pic www.geocities.com/yaduskins/shot0170.jpg) the roof seems a bit low, maybe make it a little higher.
And btw, may i beta test it to? :D

I can do bot routes, but the bots will fall alot because of the narrow floor.

I'll be real interested to see the end resultof this... I just have one brief curiosity - Which DOTF map are you puilling the textures from? It looks like the ones Whiteshdw made for our DoTF2 map (not that I care that they get used), but I'm not entirely sure... Well, anyway, I hope this continues to go well for you.
