RP
--------------------
Alright. It's an RP (Role-Playing) map of one of an Eldar craftworld's castles. It's gonig to be a fairly large map with all the typical rp stuff (you know, the hall, meeting room, armory, bunks, etc..). I am currently working on the top floor which has a small foyer room and the warpgate room. (No, not star trek.) It currently has three pipes, a rune, and the half-completed warpgate. It is currently made out of two patch mesges but I need to make it so it is solid (or hollow, there's empty space inside). This is causing me a great deal of trouble, as clipping would not be exact enough and I cannot get the proper number of vertices on that side. A screenshot or two will be up soon.

Let's see some screenshots, Wes! It sounds really cool though - I like the name as well.

If anyone has read up on their King Arthur stories they might recognise it ;)

However there is no implication about what the level will be like.

Clickie (www.geocities.com/wesmarrakesh/index.html) and make your way to the photos section. It can't be that hard :P

Yes, I know it says bolt gun. I'll fix that when I fix the rest of it :D

That's the strangest damn bolt gun I've ever seen, Wes. ;)

It looks interesting and futuristic... I was expecting a sort of castle-ish theme, but this also works.

To the untrained eye, this wouldn't look like much, but I can see true skill is at work here.

I expect to see good things from you.

Thanks.

Next time I'd appreciate it if someome told me when this got moved...

The Showcase forum is for finished products not WIPS, IMO. WIPs go in their respective forums so they have easy access to help- if you have a problem in mapping and the thread is in mapping, others will read it li9ke any other thread and help you. But (no offense) I really don't think that many modders come here, just people gawking at the pretty things :D

Unfortunately, as per the new rules, all WIPs will be moved to the Showcase Forum. I guess they're attempting to replicate the "Pimping Forum" over at Polycount...

I agree with you though, I think WIPs belong in their respective threads... the 'Showcase' should be used for pimping the finished product.

There it is, crystal clear in the Rules.

Map looks good, and I agree with Jedi, that is one weird looking bolt gun ;)

I know Andy. People usually read the rules and assume they don't change :p

Err... should I put my boltgun back up?

No, the joke with the Bolt gun is that it links to the map :) ;) So, thats why we kept saying it:)

How does the map look now? And I still need help with the gate siding...

BUMP! I'm working on the warpgate.

If this was in the mapping forums like it used to be it would have more comments, I'm sure of it.

Well, Its not like past posters don't know where to look. I mean, I left a re-direct, so its not like the thread just DISAPPEARED.

How did I know that putting WIPs into Showcase would reduce replies and kill help?

The boltgun just died and my saber will too if I can't get UVW help.

I have to admit this is a one weird looking map. It is a good sign that you can stretch your imagination beyond the conventional (that goes for the angle of view, too). The floor is also interesting. Have you built it of large pieces framed by thin light emitting ones, or do you have a shader, which emits light along the edges?

Wes, pardon me my little sidenote: I can see Morthvargr is luckily hanging around. If you are still interested in voice acting, I may contact you one day. I have currently mapped some 80% of my maps (well, the dialogues are still unwritten).

Well... i made the lower floor one big brush, then made a bunch of smaller brushes over it. The tubes are textured endcaps.

Lookin' good Wes. Of course, I tell you that every few hours on line, don't I? :)

Not so sure about those "triangular" floor lights you have - they look a little out of place somehow... I cant quite plkace why though.

As you can see, I need to fix some lighting and add ALOT more detail, but for the most part thats the size of things.

Nice, man. Great work.

Now, we should merge this with the old Tintagel WIP (bottom of forum) and get that back up. Also seems you'll be providing hosting... :D

And my greatest concern is how it looks with rest of the level. Seems like it fits ;)

I Think I've got the lighting just right, and the textures... I'll leave the stools for the bar up to Wes along with anything else he wants behind that area.
