"Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, You're my only hope"
Okay, I know there are some XWA players among you, and for those freaks I have a question:
The first mission after you've joined the rebelions you go to 3 target area's. I the Third area you'll have to destroy part of a Convoy ... I can't destroy not even 1% cause there are two escort ships firing at my butt ... how do I complete this mission?
See ... I've been playing this mission for days now.

do what i did, go on leave. the second time through you'll be able to beat it. the alliance was stupid to put you in a y-wing on your first day there.
Well, you haven't exactly joined the Rebellion yet... it's a test for them to evaluate your skills.
I haven't done that mission in ages... but I did remember how tough it was! At the day of the game's launch I got to that mission...and I was stuck there for a week!
Yes, getting a rest can help... you might also want to practice yourself in skirmishes and multiplayer games. There's no real hint to that mission as far as I remember, except to do your best.

BTW I've been looking for a couple of games to get (thanks for your input Jay), is XA worth getting. I know its kind of old now, but is there still a lot of people out there to fight against? :confused:
oh yeah, xwing alliance is up there in LEC games in terms of my personal favorites. i would grab it in a jippee...
btw, i'm game for any multiplayer sessions you guys may embark on. i need a better joystick though with more buttons. can anyone recommend one to me that's not insanely expensive (i have an old gravis blackhawk joystick)...

I destroyed 100% of it. Just go for the front of the convoy first or the motors. Without them the convoy cannot move.

destroy the cockpit and/or engine.
The TIEs might get annoying, but if your allies are still there that should be no problemo. Just tell them what to do (flight command are located to the bottom left display. you just need to know how to scrool and find it and how to use it)

Ok, here's how i did it.
You gotta take out the engines of the convoys first, then they can't get away. After that, you don't have to, but it helps to take out the escorts. To do so make high speed strafin runs and they will eventually fall. Make sure you don't just go straight at is though, you really have to juke and almost break your joystick to avoid shots, but it works.
Anyways, if you can't accomplish that, then just make strafing runs on the convoys. A helpfull hint is to keep the containers in between you and the escprts. Then, go at high speeds and fire at full strength. You will eventually win, it took me a while though. Good luck!
Anyways, maybe we should have a mini-tournament of XWA. It seems like a bunch of people here have it. Sure, Sjerack will probably win, but it would still be really fun. If not, i'm up for a good game of MP sometime, i'm not really all that great though.

I assume you're talking about the Assualt shuttles, here's what I usually do, jink like crazy, and put enough distance between yourself and the shuttles, and destroy one cargo container from each train you see, they won't be able to move, and therefore you can come back and destroy them, after you've taken the shuttles, the best way of taking the shuttles, is to get out their firing range, form up with Olin (remember he is invincible) And attack them head on, but as soon as they start firing, repeat this until both are destroyed, and in between recharge your shields of course, then as soon as the two shuttles are destroyed, take out the helpless cargo trains.

What ties?
Enemies, in the mission is my guess... :D
I don't think there are ties in the mission, there is a capitol ship though, a Dreadnaught i think, but i'm not sure. Its been a while. It really shoots you up if you don't go really fast or take it out.
