Nah... They'd just play Galaxies for a while, get sick of paying the monthly fee, and go back to playing GB... :D

I agree.

Galaxyies

1st buy the game,

2nd pay monthly to play the game. (that is why I bought it)

or

GB

1 buy and play a game (one payment only)

I'm not even wasting money with Galaxies.

No, because Galaxies is more social and personal, where as BG is more grand battles and stratagy-like. They are two seperate type of games, each with there own following :)

Damn Straight! Once I buy a game, I don't like to have to keep on paying to keep on playing. I am probably going to try Galaxies out though.

no way. swgb will probably be one of the better LEC games coming out. i know there's some hoopla surrounding jedi outcast, galaxies, and rogue leader, but it's been awhile now since gamers have been wanting an LEC strategy game such as swgb.

Really, next thing ya know they'll be making you put in quarters every time you start a new game. :D

Anyways, i think that GB will be just as big as Galaxies, and when it comes out alot of people will stick with battlegrounds, alot of people will play both, and alot of people will just get galaxies. Either way, both will do fine.

Galaxies does look like it has an incredeble amount of depth to it. You can be a bounty hunter, Jedi, Criminal, Hero, craftsman, Impirial, Rebel... and the list goes on. In the game you can even go online and buy yourself a house to keep your stuff in and hang out, a shop where you can hire a npc to sell your mechandise, a factory where you can make your merchandise...and the list goes on. im thinking of getting a MMORPG and im stuck between Galaxies and World of Warcraft. Galaxies is looking better all the time with the announcement of an expansion pack for it that will allow you to get your own ship...

Most people will end up playing both Galaxies and GB eventually. For the most part, Galaxies will attract the SW fans that are also RPG fans, while GB will take the RTS fans.

I for one neither have the money to pay an MMORPG's subscription nor the abundance of days to devote to playing it. So its going to be all GB for me.

Don't you work? If its only 10 bucks a month you can probably pay for it :) But wanting to pay for it is a whole other matter

It is an MMORPG. You really can't play that with single player. Straight RPGs you can do sigle player or both.

Ok, so you can't play single player, but thats not what rpg's are about (imo). RPG's are about interacting with other people. )

Sure there are stupid people out there but that shouldn't stop you from having fun. So what if someone calls you names or shows porn? They shouldn't do it, but they do. Just don't let it bother your enjoyment of the game. And if they harass you too much report them.
There are a lot of "good" players out there too. :) Don't just look at the bad ones

Actually, FF can be quite a fun MP game. You can set each controller to a different character, adn managing battles with 3 of your friends all playing simultaneous is quite fun and challenging. You ahve to work together, like you would in SP, but that doesn't always work out. :D I still like them better than "straight RPG's" coz you can't always have friends or people online to play with.

Anyways, cash isn't my problem. I'm only 15 and i don't have to pay for anything really, except personal wants. So, i end up spending all my money on games, and ten bucks a month isn't that bad. Considering i can't imagine playing it for over 2 or 3 months. Well, not at first anyways. A month is a long time to play a video game remember. Ten bucks would give you a very large amount of time to play, and tens bucks is relatively small. Anyways, i'll get it and have alot of fun, even if it does cost me 10 bucks more than it should.

The perverts of the world are a minority in gaming communities, I think. I've been playing online games since '98(yeah i know thats not that long) but I have met very very VERY few people like good ole Billy. I'm still friends with someone I used to play SC with years ago. IMO, gaming communities are for the most part like this one: Everyone's friends(with a notable exception ;) ), and no one wants people like Billy to bother us.

The social aspect of Galaxies is something I like....but the necissisity of litteral days to devote to MMORPG's and the cost are keeping me from it.

Tie I was talking about playing over the net, not with your friends at home (although that can be fun too). Online there is ALWAYS people to play with. Sure it's fun to know who you are playing with but sometimes you just have to play with whoever is online.
You only get 10 bucks a month?

Since I work at a baseball stadium, I don't work in the winter. So in about a month, my money flow, for all intense and purposes, stops. Or was that $10 thing towards tie? Cus I know I'm beginning to sound rather cheap.....
