some you can, some dont work unless you edit the ships.
But you can fly any ship by editing the mission with AlliED

the only ships that don't work are the Missile Boat and the Gunboat since they have s-foils which xwa doesn't recognize.

it's an editor for xwa, you can make your own levels and edit existing ones. i just know how to change the ship though, i don't get involved trying to make my own levels since it's too complicated. www.xwingalliance.net) (http://www.xwingalliance.net) and click files, and get allied.

www.winzip.com) (http://www.winzip.com) get the demo of winzip (you can use it as long as you want, no expiration date), and open allied up, then click file, open, go to xwa missions directory, open up battle5mission1 (should be abbreviated, double click on one ofr the ships on the left menu, make sure it doesn't have .ai anywhere when it brings up another menu, and where it says ship type, there's a drop down menu where you can select any ship in the game, select any of them (just don't do a capital ship, 'cause that'd probably cause a crash, a shuttle or transport would be ok i think), then save the mission as it is (just overright the mission, if it doesn't work, you can just get the mission back from the xwa cd), and then load up xwa, and go to skirmish, battle 5 mission 1, and go to the hangar, and the ship you wanted should be the main craft.

Well, I tried to download the evaluation version, and it said that if I continued, it would charge me like 20 bucks after 21 days. Oh well

If you get pc gamer, it has it on it's disc and they won't charge you they'll just ask you to register it. You don't have to. http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/smile.gif)

Uh, I dunno, I've never really downloaded anything - big surprise there huh - so, I'm not sure about anything that might charge me, but probably won't. Is there any other way that is certainly free. and, do you mean PC Gamer magazine, and if so, do I have to subscribe, or could I just get a news stand copy to get winzip free.

Thanx.

i promise it's completely free. You just download it, they don't charge you, and won't charge you. Allied doesn't charge you 'cause that's just a demo (which you can use to change starting ship)

http://www.linux-mandrake.org)

100% free stuff,

don't worry about winzip, is also 100%free unless you want the registred version.

there are a very cheap mexican magazines (if you live near mexico) $25.00 pesos or $2.5 dolars with winzip, quicktime, real, some movie previews, game Demos:
"PC Magazine" (in spanish)
"SmartBusiness" (also spanish)
PCmedia <<< kinda sucks
for the price and the files it has, I think is cool. and very cheap.
