I've compiled a set of animated cannon deploy/undeploy GIFs, and I was wondering if you'd like to put them on your site. I've got all the original Civ's cannons, but not the X-pack's.
The only thing I can see that's wrong with them is the ridiculous file size (the smallest being around 150kb) :o
I can either send you the individual .bmp files so you can figure out some way to make them smaller, or I can send you the huge finished product :)
