Greetings,
Quite a while ago I bought a double CD set with the original Xwing and Tie Fighter games albiet some 3D graphics enhancements. More recently, I upgraded from Windows98 to Windows2000 and the game won't run for me anymore.

It installs fine by whenever I click play it just prompts me to install DirectX 5.2 - and the machine already has Direct X 8.something. I believe it's because when I get the Tie Fighter software to anayze my computer, it detects my opertating system as Windows NT, and not 2000 because even 98 wasn't out when this game was made.

Does Lucasgames have a patch to override this hiccup or does anybody know anyway around it? Because until then my joystick lays idle and my thirst for destroying rebel scum unquenched.

Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated,

Regards,
jaysus.
