A couple things I just couldn't do

On the "Mos Espa Arena" level, as Qui-Gon, I just could not get to the room with the sleeping alien man who is supposed to give me a full health powerup from his cabinet if I tell him that I'm a friend of Anakin's. Since there's more room to back up, I wonder if I should set Qui-Gon a certain number of paces from the edge before doing the run + double jump.
Another thing, on the "Final Battle" level, as Obe-Won, I just couldn't get Darth Maul to fall into the pit. Oh, I got rid of him, so the game could finish. He just laid there on the catwalk. I don't suppose that makes any difference.

Hiya RJ, I worked on TPM for Big Ape Productions, the team that developed the game for Lucasarts. Glad to hear you're playing the game, and hope you're having a good time doing it.

There's no way to have Darth Maul die and fall into the pit. Some ugly bug made Maul fly around in circles without falling whenever we tried to make him go into the pit, and so we were forced to make him lie down. Even that didn't go as planned, as you can see him half-hanging over the edge.

Unfortunately, the end battle against Darth Maul was one of the casualties at the end of TPM. We thought we had about 2 weeks left to put finishing touches on various levels, including some of the bugs where the bad guys walk in place, but that time was suddenly and unexpectedly lopped off. Lucasarts felt that we should shift over to the Playstation version, to see if our added work there could speed up the release of the PSX version. At that time, Lucasarts still felt that the PSX version would only be a few weeks or so late, instead of the 4 months or so that it would end up being.

Hindsight is 20/20, of course, and if we had had those 2 weeks, I think we could have made Maul's death be a lot more satisfying, and also gotten rid of some of the problems that made the game seem rough-around-the-edges at times.

Yay, Zanzibar's back! One problem...how come he got a personal introduction and I didn't? http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/biggrin.gif)

ZZ, what's happened to Simpson's Wrestling? A local magazine advertised it available at the end of November! Has it been delayed, cancelled, or have I simply missed it in my excitement of my DC? http://www.jediknight.net/mboard/smile.gif)

Simpsons Wrestling was delayed; we had some approval difficulties that pushed us back a few months. As I am typing this, Fox is going over a 'final' version of the game.
Pending Sony approval, it will be out either in February or March.

Hooray! Some Simpson Questions:

Is there any sign of porting it over to DC?
Do the official cast do the voices?
Where's the bathroom?

1: Yes, there IS a sign: STOP. I seriously doubt that there will be a Dreamcast version. However, we made sure to use 'standard' Playstation coding, so there's a SOLID chance that the game will work on Bleem! for DC, which will make Simpsons Wrestling run at a great framerate, probably in High-Res as well. No guarantees tho.

2. Yes, all of the voices in Simpsons Wrestling are done by the original cast members, reading lines written specifically for the game. The voices are GREAT.

3. Out the front door, make a left, go all the way down the hallway. It's on the left side.

1. Aw...ah well, maybe someday...any other Big Ape games for DC?

2. Woohoo! Credability!

3. I think I'm in the Scottish Toilets...at least that's what the sign looked like. Hey, these urinals are a bit on the high side aren't they!!?
