Okay, sorry to any folks I misled before, I have seen the error of my ways through study.

Doh!

I once said that no religion or denominational faith was ever mentioned in "the Bible" by name. Here I found I was wrong.

"Judaism" is mentioned a few times:

The Book of Maccabees

2 Mac 2:21
2 Mac 14:38
4 Mac 4:26

Acts 13:43

Galatians 1:13-14

"Christian" as a designation is mentioned in Acts 11:26, Acts 26:28, and 1 Peter 4:16.

The term "Catholic" is used by some of the early Christians, but not in the Bible. This distinction came about to distinguish between the "true" Church and the heresies.

The terms "Preysbeterian," "Baptist" and "Pentecostal" all come from Scripture, but no designation is used for this particular faith in Scipture (as those sects did not emerege until many centuries after the bible was written).
