The british accent was used because it's a more sofisticated language for an empire to use (don't get me wrong, not'n wrong wi' american :D ), and it is a remenecance from the Old Republic days. For the movies it also helped to distinguish between the bad and the good guys.

lol..... well..the Dutch Fries guys say they have theyre own language. BTW im not a native to Friesland :D. i was born more to the south. we moved here cause it is way cheaper than in other parts of Holland.
