Little Jimmy's Top Ten Fun Facts About Kasan Moore

1: Kasan Moore is so massive that she can affect tides on the other side of the world.

2: Kasan Moore is an Imperial spy (Wedge voices his suspicions just before Kasan plans a mission that gets him shot down. Hmm.)

3: Kasan Moore is no better an X-wing pilot than she was with the TIE interceptor.

4: Kasan Moore wants Luke to "pick her up." Only a Jedi using the Force could accomplish this.

5: Control the twinkies and you control Kasan Moore.

6: In deep space, ships have to correct their course if Kasan Moore is nearby, to account for gravitational changes.

7: Kasan Moore never flies the airspeeder because its repulsor field is too weak to keep her off the ground.

8: The Rebel Alliance stocks two heavy cruisers with food just for Kasan Moore.

9: When leaving a planet at relativistic speeds, Kasan Moore's mass propells her forward to the future.

10: If Kasan Moore went snorkeling in the Bahamas, New York City would look like Venice, Italy.

10.5: Anyone who responds to this post be saying "Oohhh," is a hairless monkey boy with opposable thumbs. Vive la Resistance!

Little Jimmy's Top Ten Spaceships

1: USS Voyager. Top speed warp 9.975, state of the art equipment.

2: USS Enterprise. A through E, a legacy of adventure.

3: Millenium Falcon. A smuggler's ship, through and through.

4: Battlestar Galactica. Formidable at sub-light speed.

5: USS Reliant. Small but tough; held her own against Enterprise in ST2,

6: Tantive IV. Captured at beginning of SW:NH, nevertheless got as far as Tatooine and saved the day.

7: Imladil's A-wing Thrustweasel. Small, fast, and almost impossible to hit with blasters.

8: Imladil's podracer Zoom Rabbit. Not technically a spaceship, but can blaze momentum with the best of them.

9: Imladil's blockade runner Stellar Corsair. Not associated with any movie; exists only as scratch-built model. Can still thrash badly.

10: Apollo 11. Have to include at least one real spaceship; this one made the most history.

Battlestar Galactica is a cool show, as long as you aren't looking at the science too closely. I always wanted to fly a viper; the turbo boosters look like fun!

I also liked the show because of the drama. The good guys were getting their butts kicked, and it made the story more interesting. Too bad the show had to turn silly in the second season, because it had a good start. The first three episodes and the two episodes with the Pegasus stand on their own as movies, and they're pretty good. When I added a battlestar model to my collection, I chose to leave off the red battle-striping and name mine the Pacifica ("ship of peace")...sort of playing out the dream of returning to deep space exploration, as Apollo was talking about at the very beginning of the premiere episode.

I made the mistake of buying a videotape of a movie spliced together from the Galactica: 1980 series. It's called "The Cylon Conquest of Earth..." don't let it fool you. It's NOT worth watching (IMHO).

Oooooohhh...trippy! I got the kids Naboo starfighters for Christmas, and right now they're parked on top of the monitor. (Insert Twilight Zone music here.)

I used to have a viper when I was an early teen; it was the first model I bothered to paint properly. I think I shot it up in the backyard during my BB gun phase. Sure wish I hadn't; one version of each of the BG model kits showed up at my local hobby store, and I only got the battlestar and Cylon raider before the other two were sold. Missed that sucker!

Note: the Cylon raider looks suspiciously like a V-wing. Is it possible the RS designers thought a raider would be fun to fly...?

You're into spaceship models, Raven? http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/biggrin.gif) Which ones do you have? (and yes, toys count.)

Man on, Right Bat! Er, I mean... Right on, Batman!

Star Trek is swell. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif) Kirk could beat the ever-loving dog***t out of Darth Vader, and wouldn't need the drunk Scotsman or quiet Vulcan to back him up. Just play the music, and Kirk thrashes the screen.

Raven, do you have any of the Action Fleet vehicles? I used to disdain "pre-builts" in favor of ones I'd built myself, until Galoob came out with the Action Fleet series. They're detailed enough that they display right alongside the "serious" kits...plus they have little poseable dudes inside! I took the little Luke from the front seat of my airspeeder (replacing him with Dack, who always wanted to fly anyway but didn't get to before he died) and put him in my TIE interceptor's cockpit.

Won't the Imperials be surprised! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/biggrin.gif)

I have the same problem! No A-wing...and the A-wing is my favorite ship in Rogue Squadron. It is so totally unfair...

So two of the ships on my list are virtual spaceships and not models. Thrustweasel, because they don't make the A-wing anymore, and Zoom Rabbit because they don't make the Neva Kee podracer. I guess that's appropriate, since this whole forum is virtual in nature. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif)

I found these in a bunch of top ten lists from the website FireFly posted a link to and picked the best ones. I nearly died laughing the first time I saw them. Enjoy!

(The ones in gold are my own.)

Things you'll never hear a Borg say:

I just trans-warped in from the homeworld, and boy are my arms tired.
Group hug!
Anybody here from out of town? You, sir, you look like you've just recently been assimilated...
The name's Borg, James Borg.
Boy is it expensive being assimilated. It cost me an arm and a leg!
I hear the Borg Queen uses Head and Shoulders shampoo.
You're looking a little pale.
Whenever we assimilate a ship we always like to put up new curtains.
I am Flintstone of Borg; Yabba Dabba Doo!!!!!!!!
I did it my way.
You've come a long way, Borgy.
Lower your shields and prepare to be assimilated. Have a nice day!
You couldn't pay us enough to add Neelix to our collective consciousness!
I still think a Borg Octagon would work better.
Resistance could be fairly effective.
Where did they put the bathrooms on this cube?
Use the Force, Locutus!!!!
Hello Boys and Girls! Remember even though we're assimilated, Barney still loves
you. Let's sing! We love you, you love we. We're a happy Borg family.......
Thank you for calling the Borg Collective. All our drones are with other victims. Please stay on the line, your assimilation is important to us.
It may work during assimilations, but "Resistance is futile" is a lousy pick-up line.
Do you think I could get a date with C-3PO?
Ok, you're on a desert island. Who would you rather assimilate, Janeway or Seven of Nine?
You know, I really hate my job... feels like I'm just a number.
Borg Queen this, Borg Queen that... What about *my* needs?!
I dialed 1-800-COLLECT and saved my hive 45%!
Six of Thirteen, you've just assimilated Earth and destroyed the Federation. Whatcha gonna do now? "I'm going to Disneyland!"
Would you like fries with that, Sir?
Be are the Worg!
Resikance is Flutile!
Hello sir! I am 4 of 6, human cyborg relations. I am fluent in over six million forms of assimilation.
We are the Borg. You will not be assimilated. Resistance is futile... oh, never mind. Could we retake that?
Wonderful! You are now part of the collective.

Little Jimmy's Top Ten Sci-Fi Movies (and why):

1: Star Wars
Obviously, because this is a Lucasarts site, and the great bearded Jedi holds more sway than even Bill Gates hereabouts. Also, because it introduced a new standard in the cinema special effects field.

2: Strange Days
An interesting look at the concept of biological and technological integration, and its effects on a modern society. Also a good look at the Y2K hysteria, which we are quickly forgetting.

3: The Fifth Element
I don't care what anyone says, I thought it was a very artful movie, well-crafted. A good example of what can be done with computer generated effects.

4: Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan
Still the best Star trek movie in my opinion. It was also the first time we got to see the Enterprise all shot up.

5: Total Recall
Simply a well-written story (by Phillip K. ****) that makes good use of sci-fi principles. The ultimate 'where are you now?' movie.

6: Independence Day
It's about time they did an alien invasion movie that wasn't stupid.

7: Highlander
Not a sci-fi film at all, but sci-fi people all seem to like it. The Highlander films and the teevee series that followed were an excellent demonstration of different sword types and how they were used in hand-to-hand combat.

8: Starship Troopers
Just a lot of good, clean violence. Everyone likes gunfire and explosions. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/biggrin.gif)

9: Solar Crisis
A fairly unknown film about a mission to stop a solar flare from frying the Earth. Well worth tracking down.

10: Back to the Future 2
The best of the BTTF movies, and the one that actually tells most of the story. These three films taken together are a wonderful example of time travel sci-fi.

Whew. So there.

I'm sorry, Ike. I remembered it the next morning, when I was in the shower. It certainly should be on the list. I guess Little Jimmy will just have to stay up late for one more movie!

11: The Matrix
Being a fan of 'dark' movies, where the good guys face terrible odds, I choose this one as a top example. Also, it boldly brought a spiritual dimension to the sci-fi screen and pioneered the 'virtual camera' technique of special effects.

Anyone have an idea for number twelve?

Now, classics would have to be a different list. I haven't seen enough of the old flicks to make such a list, but I would have to nominate The Fly (the original, not the one with Jeff Goldblum.)

It should be noted that of all the sci-fi genre, it is the Star Trek saga which has its roots in the classic era (bug-eyed monsters, analog special effects, etc.) and is continuing on to today.

But who knows? Maybe someday, the 'classics' will be the pre-CGI films, and it will be Star Wars which holds the same distinction. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif)

Although I do not agree with the list above , at least not entirely, I have to ask on what ground should the "Top Movies" should be judged...Breakthrough in SFX ? Scenario ? Acting ?
Anyway, I strongly believe that these movies are definitely TOP TEN

1.Metropolis The pioneer

2.Blade Runner do I need to say more ?

3.Terminator 1&2 Especially T2 was the first movie to make extensive use of the morphing technique

I guess the only criteria was whether or not Little Jimmy liked the film in question. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif)

I'll buy into Blade Runner being on such a list. Although I thought they could have done more with the setting and interesting social conditions than the story they did tell, it's still a film noir standard in the sci-fi pantheon of depressing futuristic movies.

Just as long as no one tries to nominate Event Horizon! Jeez, that movie stank...
