Making a thread here just to cover more ground, but as mentioned in Outlander Club, Star Wars Battlefront has been announced on EA's E3 Conference.

Really looking forward to this, and hoping they nail this one! The first two were good and had so much potential but they seemed to fall a little short. Third time's the charm!
Plus, yeah, it would be great to see Lucasforums get a little life back in them again!

nvm my mistake, did not do enough research about Battlefront 3 and the Engine it will utilize ^^
I see it commonly being called Battlefront III by many but it seems DICE plans on starting over with their own spin on what Battlefront should be.
Regardless of what they call it, something tells me that it will be known commonly as battlefront 3
I hope we see more eras than just the CW and the GCW.
Indeed - I'm hoping for a "Republic through the Ages" type campaign, where you start in the Great Hyperspace War, fighting in all the major conflicts, through to the Battle of Coruscant in the Second Imperial Civil War and the formation of the Galactic Federation Triumvirate.
I suppose DICE is as good a choice as any to make a new Battlefront game, but I don't think I'm capable of being truly optimistic about anything coming out of EA.
