Will 2013 Be Better Than 2012 for Video Games?

Many were disappointed with 2012 video games. Highly anticipated games, like Mass Effect 3, left a bad taste in peoples mouths. So what do you think will games like Dead Space 3, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Tomb Raider, BioShock Infinite, GTA V... make 2013 a great year or will we be left with another bad taste?

Seeing as I've found myself drawn away from vidya each year I don't really see a difference... am looking forward to GTA V and the new Metal Gear though.

Still voted yes.

I think so, yes. There's a few "triple A" games that I'm looking forward to, the Indie scene is at full speed and I can't wait to see what the Kickstarter projects bring to the table.

Seriously, (as compared to my poll answer), as long as people overhype/promise their product and fail to deliver......yeh, not expecting much. Taking a wait and see attitude.

More No than Yes at this point.

They still make vidya?

Some dude just offloaded counter strike source and a bunch of other valve games and stuff in a box. I got 'em from the apartments I maintain. True story.

Any rate. Hope for the best, expect the worst. Probably not going to buy new vidya in the foreseeable near future. I don't know why I'm drifting so much.

Gaming development for me is declining further in quality every year. Let's hope that all changes when next-gen comes into play.

I voted yes because of Tomb Raider.

Nope.

ME3 (yes, really!) and Dishonored blew me away last year...I'm not looking forward to any games in that list whatsoever. Gone back to playing Skyrim and Neverwinter Nights now just because...

I picked yes because I think there might be some big surprises this year. Plus Tomb Raider, Bioshock, God of War, Dead Space, and others. Like GTAV.

I asked if they still make vidya because I don't really play that much anymore. :/

I thought with new mods and games like Black Mesa I would play more, but it was actually the opposite that occurred. Now I have a backlog of games to play and am slowly moving through Skyrim and Fallout 3 still, on uber runs basically.

There are a boatload of interesting titles slated to come out this year. (http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/01/01/2013-preview/)

So yeah, I suspect it's going to be a good year for gaming.

Of course, in 2014 we can see if we were right or not.

Not sure that 2013 will have games that I personally loved as much as Dishonored and Far Cry 3. The indie market will likely become even greater and publishers will make even more terrible decisions. The consoles will be smart TV boxes with additional gaming capability and a bunch of adverts for paid DLC.

Valve will again show how it's done. PC gaming will continue as it is.
