Replaces the w_blstrpstl_010 model (Aratek Droid Oxidizer) with this:
http://kotormods.oldhickorystix.com/k2ionbltr1.jpg***Update***) This new model is MUCH better:

The download file below replaces the original with the new Bug Weapon model. Thanks to PastramiX for steering me in a Geonosian direction.

Download:
http://kotormods.oldhickorystix.com/w_IonBlstr_001a.zip)

Installation:
Place the contents of the zip file in your C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\Override directory. Uses in-game textures, so no TGAs, just .mdl and .mdx.

looks like you're back seriously into modding 'business' with all these models around ain't you?

yeah maybe this one is not your best, but I'm looks pretty good to replace the default ones and to distinguish from similar models. For now, I've only found this replacing the Aratech droid oxidizer, I guess there's at least another weapon replaced by this model right? :raise:

keep up the awesome work :thmbup1:

I haven't checked to see how many use this model. I think it's just the one.

Edit: I replaced the model with a new one in the OP.

new model is far much better, so, geonosian origin u say? :raise:

after some tinkering with the first model, I placed it as replacement for the Hold out blaster and the Elite Watchman Blaster, just renaming the files (mdx/mdl) to w_Hldoblst_004.mdx and mdl respectively. Apparently no other hold out pistols nor regular pistols are affected by this ... :)

keep up the good work :thmbup1:

the new oxidizer looks like it has been partially oxidized :D nice rusty colour e-varmint. The handle looks like an old, corroded pipe that's been shoved into the back of the barrel, which works well with the textures used :)

These use organic technology that was discovered by the Czerka Commando Corps after a mysterious, and violent, encounter with Klendahu Bug Soldiers on Tatooine during the Star Forge War. Since these creatures invaded from some distant galaxy, the weapons sat in quarantine for several years whilst the Republic's leading scientists evaluated their potential for spreading alien diseases. Eventually, these slightly rusted jewels of carnage were released for sale to the public (bug soldier pieces have a very high iron content, so they develop veins of reddish discoloration).

My ... and I thought just for a second you were improvising?

Klendahu bug soldiers? Star Forge war? you mean conflict that finally destroyed the rakatan civilization millennia ago? :raise: must be ...

this deserves at least to be reported as description for a new uti doesn't it? ;)

It was a thinly veiled reference to the K1 Czerka Commando Mod:D

I guess I ought to put more effort in to the backstory of all the weapons. The best stories develop from comments made after release, so I procrastinate until there's a patch (and there ALWAYS seems to be a patch, no matter how ready I think the mod is at the time of initial release).
