Alright, so here's the deal: I have a copy of "X-Wing" Collector's CD-ROM that I got waaaaaaay back in 1993 when my family got our first PC. It's one of my favorite games of all time, but of course I can't play it on my newer PC with Windows Vista.

It's my understanding that there are things I can do and programs I can download to get it running on a newer machine, but I honestly know very little about computers and am kind of freaked out that I'll end up screwing up my PC and losing all of my (and my wife's) saved stuff.

Is there a relatively simple and safe way to play this game using Windows Vista, or am I stuck watching YouTube videos of someone else playing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
