I am new to the search for the ability to play my old favorites. I of course have been to the Lucas Arts site and found limited information about getting these games to work. You would think considering the large response they have receieved about these games that they would see the market forming and try to wedge themselves in early by remaking these games for the XP and Vista systems.

I have XP and want to try to play these old games. I appreciate any information anyone has to try and help, thank you.

Are we talking about the DOS versions (floppy or Collector's CD-ROM) or the Windows versions (X-Wing Collector's Series) of these games?

DOS then. You should know that WinXP and Vista do not support DOS applications natively, so they must be run under emulation. DOSBox (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox) should do, but you may find they run better under VDMSound (http://sourceforge.net/projects/vdmsound). This thread on TheForce.net (http://boards.theforce.net/Games:_Board_and_Videogames/b10005/12830230/p1/) should prove to be a good resource for getting these games running.
