Escape from Monkey Island kicks ass.
The only thing I didn't really like about EMI was the fact that it didn't seem so, well piaraty, I mean it's a great game and everything, but maybe it woulda been better if it wasn't a MI game if this makes sense, I think that EMI wasn't really made for the fans it was made for the money, and I am used to point n click Guybrush, so the keyboard moving kinda irriated me, but on a scale of 1-10 I'd rate it a 7 1/2 I still prefer the stories of SOMI and MI2 but with the graphics of CMI, but to say it's the worse Lucas Arts game ever made does seem to be a lil unfair

I think the reason why Otis's voice was like that was coz of the trauma he went though when he was on Monkey Island, and because he was so deeply affected, he's basically being reduced to a wimp all because he couldn't handle some monkeys

Otis had an excellent voice. I thought it perfect for him 'cos he was tramatised like you said and it gave him feeling. It was distinctive in a good way. The voice i hated was that talking figurehead. God that was annoying. It was a well chosen voice, it represented the character well, but i hated the sound of it.

I've read the points made against M4 and I have to say that I agree with some things he said:
"The puzzles in Monkey Island 4 are simply ingenious at times", "there's no depth to the puzzles" The puzzles in M4 would be either too easy and simple(most of the time) or too hard.
Fine, but people need to judge M4 (and anything in life with a impartial point of view.
In all P, he talked about POINTLESS (as the word he choose to use)details and forgot the main idea, which is how the game satisfied us.
I'm not saying that I liked M4. It was good though, but it (like we say in Brazil) left us on hope. Many people including me were expecting more than we got.
Did it have a good plot: YES а (I can't see why he didn't like the idea of ultimate insult)
Did it followed the basic stile of the game: YES (even though it wasn't that good)
Did it have good jokes and stuff like that: YES (more than the other 3 I'd say)
Did it fulfilled the idea of a sequence of CMI successfully: YES
What were u expecting?

Well I think Whatever Otis's voice sounded like you would have probably liked it,it is the first time you have heard it.I thought it was good.
It sure as hell WAS NOT as good as any of the previous ones.But remember quite a lot of people on this forum have only played MI4 so when they hear ''EMI SUCKS'' they think,it doesn't and they liked it.I don't think it sucked as a game that much,mabye the storyline did.Well the storyline would probably be good for a first time MI player.But with LeChuck working for Ozzie.....UGH!.As being a part of the series there ain't no doubt about it,It ruined it.

I am not sure, but I think MI4 was a good game FOR THE CURRENT MARKET. It was, admittidley, my first monkey game but I am guessing that although the others had better content, this game had to satisfy people who had played the series AND those who where more interested in more action based genres.

I like the Grim referance. Even though it has nothing to do w/ anything going on, its still correct. Guys, quit moaning about the 3d nonesence, Grim was the best game Schafer ever made(and he made all the best games, w/ the exception of sam and max, he didn't make that) As far as story line, ok so the end of EMI was really, really, sad, but o well! Its a video game, and it entertained us. You guys really need to calm down. Like SERIOUSLy, if you are going to ***** and moan about every minor detail in every sequal LEC makes, than stop *****ing and moaning for them to make sequals! It'd be better if they made original GA's anyway. EMI was a great game, and it least it had a storyline, unlike CMI. Did you ever think of that? If you look at all four as games on their own, EMI has the most complex storyline, sure, its not as funny as teh first two, but still. Its a good game.
AS for that thing about Star WArs crap,The x-wing series is as old and as good as MI(they came out in the same year). All of thier starwars games, i think are good. However, i do agree, they are crap compared to Sam and max, or grim(best game ever). They do need to stop relying on franchises, like starwars, indiana jones, and YES Monkey Island. MAy they someday get back to making orginal games. Because, and this is something we're all forgetting, the most popular adventure game on the market, Myst, SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the worst $%^&*() ADVENTURE GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED. as THE FLYING WELSHMEN PUT IT IN CMI, ITS PRETTY AT FIRST, BUT BORING AS HELL.
All in all, stop *****ing about the little tidbits of the games, and enjoy it.
