How do add a signature to your posts?
At the top right of your screen you should see something labeled "user cp" (

In the control panel under "Settings and Options" you will see "edit Signature". From there, it should only be challenging to mentally retarded people.

I always answer when someone asks how to put a pic in their sig as long as the n00b isn't irretrievably stupid.
All you do is get the URL of the pic and put tags around it;

But without the spaces between the link and tags:
