I took a closer look at one of the official screenshots, and found what appears to be two new imperial ships. You can see it in the frame, those two objects are definately not stars, but some kind of two small ships. What can they be, does anyone have any idea?

Those look like they're about the right size to be landing transports...or maybe something else corvette-sized. Hmm.
They seem smaller then corvettes though. I have no idea. It just looks like two blobs to me :p
definetely smaller than corvettes. Perhaps they are one of the new fighters? Can't really tell =/
I don't think those are transports, if you zoom in it looks nothing like it.
The bigger one kinda looks like either a Carrack, or a Lancer.
Look like a tie defender to me sorta.
The one to the right looks like a AT-AT barge to me.

i don't know. could be Rebel transports, too. the shape is right, although you have to wonder why they aren't being fired at.

Actually it can well be a "car rack" or "ship rack" Just broken parts of a ship.

It's really too hard to tell what they really are at that size, it's anyone's guess.

Those are....umm...tiny. Nevertheless, I believe that you are pointing at a TIE defender squadron. There are three to a squadron, and it looks like two of them are overlapping in the picture.

I can't really tell from that pic, it's just a guess based on knowing what was actually in the demo that those pics came from. And most of the Empire's new space units have already been revealed - the ones that haven't been revealed weren't in the demo because they hadn't been built yet.

Yes, there are--TIE Defenders, apparently!
And the ones that are in the works... We have Eclipse... maybe we can have our World Devistators? Or Obsidian with Imperial Research Ships carrying M series Experimental Ties (oops these can be Pirate/corrupt ships)?
Rebels can have their E wings if they want. Its fair Trade. Well, actually we can make do with a Galaxy Gun, the rebels can have their A1 Viper Droids.
Sorry, but those are WAAAY out of the expansions timeline. Its still before/around Endor, and the Eclipse in this one is a prototype.
